Psalm 13
NIV Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionEnglish Standard Version
1For the director of music. A psalm of David. How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?1How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
2How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?2How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
3Look on me and answer, LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,3Consider and answer me, O LORD my God; light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death,
4and my enemy will say, "I have overcome him," and my foes will rejoice when I fall.4lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,” lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken.
5But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.5But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
6I will sing the LORD's praise, for he has been good to me.6I will sing to the LORD, because he has dealt bountifully with me.
