Psalm 76
NIV Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionKing James Bible
For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm of Asaph. A song. God is renowned in Judah; in Israel his name is great.1To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song of Asaph. In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.
His tent is in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion.2In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.
There he broke the flashing arrows, the shields and the swords, the weapons of war.3There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.
You are radiant with light, more majestic than mountains rich with game.4Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.
The valiant lie plundered, they sleep their last sleep; not one of the warriors can lift his hands.5The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands.
At your rebuke, God of Jacob, both horse and chariot lie still.6At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.
It is you alone who are to be feared. Who can stand before you when you are angry?7Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?
From heaven you pronounced judgment, and the land feared and was quiet--8Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,
when you, God, rose up to judge, to save all the afflicted of the land.9When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.
Surely your wrath against mankind brings you praise, and the survivors of your wrath are restrained.10Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.
Make vows to the LORD your God and fulfill them; let all the neighboring lands bring gifts to the One to be feared.11Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.
He breaks the spirit of rulers; he is feared by the kings of the earth.12He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.
