Psalm 120
NIV Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionNET Bible
1A song of ascents. I call on the LORD in my distress, and he answers me.1A song of ascents. In my distress I cried out to the LORD and he answered me.
2Save me, LORD, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues.2I said, "O LORD, rescue me from those who lie with their lips and those who deceive with their tongue.
3What will he do to you, and what more besides, you deceitful tongue?3How will he severely punish you, you deceptive talker?
4He will punish you with a warrior's sharp arrows, with burning coals of the broom bush.4Here's how! With the sharp arrows of warriors, with arrowheads forged over the hot coals.
5Woe to me that I dwell in Meshek, that I live among the tents of Kedar!5How miserable I am! For I have lived temporarily in Meshech; I have resided among the tents of Kedar.
6Too long have I lived among those who hate peace.6For too long I have had to reside with those who hate peace.
7I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war.7I am committed to peace, but when I speak, they want to make war.
