NIV Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New International VersionNET Bible
A song of ascents. "They have greatly oppressed me from my youth," let Israel say;1A song of ascents. "Since my youth they have often attacked me," let Israel say.
"they have greatly oppressed me from my youth, but they have not gained the victory over me.2"Since my youth they have often attacked me, but they have not defeated me.
Plowmen have plowed my back and made their furrows long.3The plowers plowed my back; they made their furrows long.
But the LORD is righteous; he has cut me free from the cords of the wicked."4The LORD is just; he cut the ropes of the wicked."
May all who hate Zion be turned back in shame.5May all who hate Zion be humiliated and turned back!
May they be like grass on the roof, which withers before it can grow;6May they be like the grass on the rooftops which withers before one can even pull it up,
a reaper cannot fill his hands with it, nor one who gathers fill his arms.7which cannot fill the reaper's hand, or the lap of the one who gathers the grain!
May those who pass by not say to them, "The blessing of the LORD be on you; we bless you in the name of the LORD."8Those who pass by will not say, "May you experience the LORD's blessing! We pronounce a blessing on you in the name of the LORD."
