| 3So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; | 3“Truly I tell you,” He said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. |
| 4for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.” | 4For they all contributed out of their surplus, but she out of her poverty has put in all she had to live on.” |
| 5Then, as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and donations, He said, | 5As some of the disciples were remarking how the temple was adorned with beautiful stones and consecrated gifts, Jesus said, |
| 6“These things which you see—the days will come in which not one stone shall be left upon another that shall not be thrown down.” | 6“As for what you see here, the time will come when not one stone will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.” |
| 7So they asked Him, saying, “Teacher, but when will these things be? And what sign will there be when these things are about to take place?” | 7“Teacher,” they asked, “when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?” |
| 8And He said: “Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ Therefore do not go after them. | 8Jesus answered, “See to it that you are not deceived. For many will come in My name, claiming, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them. |
| 9But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.” | 9When you hear of wars and rebellions, do not be alarmed. These things must happen first, but the end is not imminent.” |
| 10Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. | 10Then He told them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. |

| 12But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. | 13But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony. | 13This will be your opportunity to serve as witnesses. |
| 14Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; | 14So make up your mind not to worry beforehand how to defend yourselves. |
| 15for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist. | 15For I will give you speech and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. |

| 35For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. | 35For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of all the earth. |

| 37And in the daytime He was teaching in the temple, but at night He went out and stayed on the mountain called Olivet. | 37Every day Jesus taught at the temple, but every evening He went out to spend the night on the Mount of Olives. |
