New King James VersionBerean Study Bible
A Psalm of David when he fled from Absalom his son. LORD, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me.1A Psalm of David, when he fled from his son Absalom. O LORD, how my foes have increased! How many rise up against me!
Many are they who say of me, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah2Many say of me, “God will not deliver him.” Selah
But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.3But You, O LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, and the One who lifts my head.
I cried to the LORD with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah4To the LORD I cry aloud, and He answers me from His holy mountain. Selah
I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustained me.5I lie down and sleep; I wake again, for the LORD sustains me.
I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around.6I will not fear the myriads set against me on every side.
Arise, O LORD; Save me, O my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly.7Arise, O LORD! Save me, O my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked.
Salvation belongs to the LORD. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah8Salvation belongs to the LORD; may Your blessing be on Your people. Selah
