New King James VersionChristian Standard Bible
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.1Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.2Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.3For by the grace given to me, I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he should think. Instead, think sensibly, as God has distributed a measure of faith to each one.
For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function,4Now as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts do not have the same function,
so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.5in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another.
Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;6According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts: If prophecy, use it according to the proportion of one's faith;
or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching;7if service, use it in service; if teaching, in teaching;
he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.8if exhorting, in exhortation; giving, with generosity; leading, with diligence; showing mercy, with cheerfulness.
Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.9Let love be without hypocrisy. Detest evil; cling to what is good.
Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;10Love one another deeply as brothers and sisters. Outdo one another in showing honor.
not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;11Do not lack diligence in zeal; be fervent in the Spirit; serve the Lord.
rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;12Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer.
distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.13Share with the saints in their needs; pursue hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.14Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.15Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.
Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.16Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud; instead, associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own estimation.
Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.17Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Give careful thought to do what is honorable in everyone's eyes.
If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.18If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.19Friends, do not avenge yourselves; instead, leave room for God's wrath, because it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.
Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”20But If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head.
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.21Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.
