I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.1Παρακαλῶ οὖν ὑμᾶς ἀδελφοί διὰ τῶν οἰκτιρμῶν τοῦ Θεοῦ παραστῆσαι τὰ σώματα ὑμῶν θυσίαν ζῶσαν ἁγίαν «τῷ Θεῷ» εὐάρεστον τὴν λογικὴν λατρείαν ὑμῶν
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.2καὶ μὴ συσχηματίζεσθε τῷ αἰῶνι τούτῳ ἀλλὰ μεταμορφοῦσθε τῇ ἀνακαινώσει τοῦ νοός εἰς τὸ δοκιμάζειν ὑμᾶς τί τὸ θέλημα τοῦ Θεοῦ τὸ ἀγαθὸν καὶ εὐάρεστον καὶ τέλειον
For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.3Λέγω γὰρ διὰ τῆς χάριτος τῆς δοθείσης μοι παντὶ τῷ ὄντι ἐν ὑμῖν μὴ ὑπερφρονεῖν παρ’ δεῖ φρονεῖν ἀλλὰ φρονεῖν εἰς τὸ σωφρονεῖν ἑκάστῳ ὡς Θεὸς ἐμέρισεν μέτρον πίστεως
For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function,4καθάπερ γὰρ ἐν ἑνὶ σώματι πολλὰ μέλη ἔχομεν τὰ δὲ μέλη πάντα οὐ τὴν αὐτὴν ἔχει πρᾶξιν
so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.5οὕτως οἱ πολλοὶ ἓν σῶμά ἐσμεν ἐν Χριστῷ τὸ δὲ καθ’ εἷς ἀλλήλων μέλη
Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;6Ἔχοντες δὲ χαρίσματα κατὰ τὴν χάριν τὴν δοθεῖσαν ἡμῖν διάφορα εἴτε προφητείαν κατὰ τὴν ἀναλογίαν τῆς πίστεως
or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching;7εἴτε διακονίαν ἐν τῇ διακονίᾳ εἴτε διδάσκων ἐν τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ
he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.8εἴτε παρακαλῶν ἐν τῇ παρακλήσει μεταδιδοὺς ἐν ἁπλότητι προϊστάμενος ἐν σπουδῇ ἐλεῶν ἐν ἱλαρότητι
Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.9 ἀγάπη ἀνυπόκριτος ἀποστυγοῦντες τὸ πονηρόν κολλώμενοι τῷ ἀγαθῷ
Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;10τῇ φιλαδελφίᾳ εἰς ἀλλήλους φιλόστοργοι τῇ τιμῇ ἀλλήλους προηγούμενοι
not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;11τῇ σπουδῇ μὴ ὀκνηροί τῷ πνεύματι ζέοντες τῷ Κυρίῳ δουλεύοντες
rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;12τῇ ἐλπίδι χαίροντες τῇ θλίψει ὑπομένοντες τῇ προσευχῇ προσκαρτεροῦντες
distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.13ταῖς χρείαις τῶν ἁγίων κοινωνοῦντες τὴν φιλοξενίαν διώκοντες
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.14Εὐλογεῖτε τοὺς διώκοντας [ὑμᾶς] εὐλογεῖτε καὶ μὴ καταρᾶσθε
Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.15χαίρειν μετὰ χαιρόντων κλαίειν μετὰ κλαιόντων
Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.16τὸ αὐτὸ εἰς ἀλλήλους φρονοῦντες μὴ τὰ ὑψηλὰ φρονοῦντες ἀλλὰ τοῖς ταπεινοῖς συναπαγόμενοι μὴ γίνεσθε φρόνιμοι παρ’ ἑαυτοῖς
Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.17μηδενὶ κακὸν ἀντὶ κακοῦ ἀποδιδόντες προνοούμενοι καλὰ ἐνώπιον πάντων ἀνθρώπων
If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.18εἰ δυνατόν τὸ ἐξ ὑμῶν μετὰ πάντων ἀνθρώπων εἰρηνεύοντες
Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.19μὴ ἑαυτοὺς ἐκδικοῦντες ἀγαπητοί ἀλλὰ δότε τόπον τῇ ὀργῇ γέγραπται γάρ Ἐμοὶ ἐκδίκησις ἐγὼ ἀνταποδώσω λέγει Κύριος
Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”20Ἀλλὰ Ἐὰν πεινᾷ ἐχθρός σου ψώμιζε αὐτόν ἐὰν διψᾷ πότιζε αὐτόν τοῦτο γὰρ ποιῶν ἄνθρακας πυρὸς σωρεύσεις ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.21Μὴ νικῶ ὑπὸ τοῦ κακοῦ ἀλλὰ νίκα ἐν τῷ ἀγαθῷ τὸ κακόν
