New King James VersionNET Bible
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.1Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice--alive, holy, and pleasing to God--which is your reasonable service.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.2Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God--what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.
For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.3For by the grace given to me I say to every one of you not to think more highly of yourself than you ought to think, but to think with sober discernment, as God has distributed to each of you a measure of faith.
For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function,4For just as in one body we have many members, and not all the members serve the same function,
so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.5so we who are many are one body in Christ, and individually we are members who belong to one another.
Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;6And we have different gifts according to the grace given to us. If the gift is prophecy, that individual must use it in proportion to his faith.
or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching;7If it is service, he must serve; if it is teaching, he must teach;
he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.8if it is exhortation, he must exhort; if it is contributing, he must do so with sincerity; if it is leadership, he must do so with diligence; if it is showing mercy, he must do so with cheerfulness.
Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.9Love must be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil, cling to what is good.
Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;10Be devoted to one another with mutual love, showing eagerness in honoring one another.
not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;11Do not lag in zeal, be enthusiastic in spirit, serve the Lord.
rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;12Rejoice in hope, endure in suffering, persist in prayer.
distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.13Contribute to the needs of the saints, pursue hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.14Bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse.
Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.15Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.16Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly. Do not be conceited.
Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.17Do not repay anyone evil for evil; consider what is good before all people.
If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.18If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all people.
Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.19Do not avenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to God's wrath, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay," says the Lord.
Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”20Rather, if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing this you will be heaping burning coals on his head.
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
