And after they were brought to Babylon, Jeconiah begot Shealtiel, and Shealtiel begot Zerubbabel.12And after the deportation to Babylon: Jechoniah was the father of Shealtiel, and Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,
Zerubbabel begot Abiud, Abiud begot Eliakim, and Eliakim begot Azor.13and Zerubbabel the father of Abiud, and Abiud the father of Eliakim, and Eliakim the father of Azor,

And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ.16and Jacob the father of Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom Jesus was born, who is called Christ.
So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, from David until the captivity in Babylon are fourteen generations, and from the captivity in Babylon until the Christ are fourteen generations.17So all the generations from Abraham to David were fourteen generations, and from David to the deportation to Babylon fourteen generations, and from the deportation to Babylon to the Christ fourteen generations.
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.18Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.
Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.19And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly.
But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.20But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”21She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:22All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet:
“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”23“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).
Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife,24When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife,
and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name JESUS.25but knew her not until she had given birth to a son. And he called his name Jesus.
