New King James VersionEnglish Standard Version
To the Chief Musician. On a stringed instrument. A Psalm of David. Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer.1Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer;
From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.2from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I,
For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy.3for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy.
I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah4Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! Selah
For You, O God, have heard my vows; You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name.5For you, O God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
You will prolong the king’s life, His years as many generations.6Prolong the life of the king; may his years endure to all generations!
He shall abide before God forever. Oh, prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him!7May he be enthroned forever before God; appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him!
So I will sing praise to Your name forever, That I may daily perform my vows.8So will I ever sing praises to your name, as I perform my vows day after day.
