New King James VersionEnglish Standard Version
To the Chief Musician. Set to “The Lilies.” A Testimony of Asaph. A Psalm. Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock; You who dwell between the cherubim, shine forth!1Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock. You who are enthroned upon the cherubim, shine forth.
Before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh, Stir up Your strength, And come and save us!2Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up your might and come to save us!
Restore us, O God; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved!3Restore us, O God; let your face shine, that we may be saved!
O LORD God of hosts, How long will You be angry Against the prayer of Your people?4O LORD God of hosts, how long will you be angry with your people’s prayers?
You have fed them with the bread of tears, And given them tears to drink in great measure.5You have fed them with the bread of tears and given them tears to drink in full measure.
You have made us a strife to our neighbors, And our enemies laugh among themselves.6You make us an object of contention for our neighbors, and our enemies laugh among themselves.
Restore us, O God of hosts; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved!7Restore us, O God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved!
You have brought a vine out of Egypt; You have cast out the nations, and planted it.8You brought a vine out of Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it.
You prepared room for it, And caused it to take deep root, And it filled the land.9You cleared the ground for it; it took deep root and filled the land.
The hills were covered with its shadow, And the mighty cedars with its boughs.10The mountains were covered with its shade, the mighty cedars with its branches.
She sent out her boughs to the Sea, And her branches to the River.11It sent out its branches to the sea and its shoots to the River.
Why have You broken down her hedges, So that all who pass by the way pluck her fruit?12Why then have you broken down its walls, so that all who pass along the way pluck its fruit?
The boar out of the woods uproots it, And the wild beast of the field devours it.13The boar from the forest ravages it, and all that move in the field feed on it.
Return, we beseech You, O God of hosts; Look down from heaven and see, And visit this vine14Turn again, O God of hosts! Look down from heaven, and see; have regard for this vine,
And the vineyard which Your right hand has planted, And the branch that You made strong for Yourself.15the stock that your right hand planted, and for the son whom you made strong for yourself.
It is burned with fire, it is cut down; They perish at the rebuke of Your countenance.16They have burned it with fire; they have cut it down; may they perish at the rebuke of your face!
Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand, Upon the son of man whom You made strong for Yourself.17But let your hand be on the man of your right hand, the son of man whom you have made strong for yourself!
Then we will not turn back from You; Revive us, and we will call upon Your name.18Then we shall not turn back from you; give us life, and we will call upon your name!
Restore us, O LORD God of hosts; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved!19Restore us, O LORD God of hosts! Let your face shine, that we may be saved!
