Psalm 132
NKJV Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionInternational Standard Version
A Song of Ascents. LORD, remember David And all his afflictions;1LORD, remember in David's favor all of his troubles;
How he swore to the LORD, And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:2how he swore an oath to the LORD, vowing to the Mighty One of Jacob,
“Surely I will not go into the chamber of my house, Or go up to the comfort of my bed;3"I will not enter my house, or lie down on my bed,
I will not give sleep to my eyes Or slumber to my eyelids,4or let myself go to sleep or even take a nap,
Until I find a place for the LORD, A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.”5until I locate a place for the LORD, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob."
Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah; We found it in the fields of the woods.6We heard about it in Ephrata; we found it in the fields of Jaar.
Let us go into His tabernacle; Let us worship at His footstool.7Let's go to his dwelling place and worship at his footstool.
Arise, O LORD, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength.8Arise, LORD, and go to your resting place, you and the ark of your strength.
Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness, And let Your saints shout for joy.9May your priests be clothed with righteousness and may your godly ones shout for joy.
For Your servant David’s sake, Do not turn away the face of Your Anointed.10For the sake of your servant David, don't turn away the face of your anointed one.
The LORD has sworn in truth to David; He will not turn from it: “I will set upon your throne the fruit of your body.11The LORD made an oath to David from which he will not retreat: "One of your sons I will set in place on your throne.
If your sons will keep My covenant And My testimony which I shall teach them, Their sons also shall sit upon your throne forevermore.”12If your sons keep my covenant and my statutes that I will teach them, then their sons will also sit on your throne forever."
For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place:13For the LORD has chosen Zion, desiring it as his dwelling place.
“This is My resting place forever; Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.14"This is my resting place forever. Here I will live, because I desire to do so.
I will abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her poor with bread.15I will bless its provisions abundantly; I will satiate its poor with food.
I will also clothe her priests with salvation, And her saints shall shout aloud for joy.16I will clothe its priests with salvation and its godly ones will shout for joy.
There I will make the horn of David grow; I will prepare a lamp for My Anointed.17There I will create a power base for David— I have prepared a lamp for my anointed one.
His enemies I will clothe with shame, But upon Himself His crown shall flourish.”18I will clothe his enemies with disgrace, but on him his crown will shine."
