NKJV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew American Standard Bible 1995
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. Hear my voice, O God, in my meditation; Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.1For the choir director. A Psalm of David. Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; Preserve my life from dread of the enemy.
Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, From the rebellion of the workers of iniquity,2Hide me from the secret counsel of evildoers, From the tumult of those who do iniquity,
Who sharpen their tongue like a sword, And bend their bows to shoot their arrows—bitter words,3Who have sharpened their tongue like a sword. They aimed bitter speech as their arrow,
That they may shoot in secret at the blameless; Suddenly they shoot at him and do not fear.4To shoot from concealment at the blameless; Suddenly they shoot at him, and do not fear.
They encourage themselves in an evil matter; They talk of laying snares secretly; They say, “Who will see them?”5They hold fast to themselves an evil purpose; They talk of laying snares secretly; They say, "Who can see them?"
They devise iniquities: “We have perfected a shrewd scheme.” Both the inward thought and the heart of man are deep.6They devise injustices, saying, "We are ready with a well-conceived plot"; For the inward thought and the heart of a man are deep.
But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; Suddenly they shall be wounded.7But God will shoot at them with an arrow; Suddenly they will be wounded.
So He will make them stumble over their own tongue; All who see them shall flee away.8So they will make him stumble; Their own tongue is against them; All who see them will shake the head.
All men shall fear, And shall declare the work of God; For they shall wisely consider His doing.9Then all men will fear, And they will declare the work of God, And will consider what He has done.
The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and trust in Him. And all the upright in heart shall glory.10The righteous man will be glad in the LORD and will take refuge in Him; And all the upright in heart will glory.
