Psalm 64
NKJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew Living Translation
1To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. Hear my voice, O God, in my meditation; Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.1O God, listen to my complaint. Protect my life from my enemies’ threats.
2Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, From the rebellion of the workers of iniquity,2Hide me from the plots of this evil mob, from this gang of wrongdoers.
3Who sharpen their tongue like a sword, And bend their bows to shoot their arrows—bitter words,3They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their bitter words like arrows.
4That they may shoot in secret at the blameless; Suddenly they shoot at him and do not fear.4They shoot from ambush at the innocent, attacking suddenly and fearlessly.
5They encourage themselves in an evil matter; They talk of laying snares secretly; They say, “Who will see them?”5They encourage each other to do evil and plan how to set their traps in secret. “Who will ever notice?” they ask.
6They devise iniquities: “We have perfected a shrewd scheme.” Both the inward thought and the heart of man are deep.6As they plot their crimes, they say, “We have devised the perfect plan!” Yes, the human heart and mind are cunning.
7But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; Suddenly they shall be wounded.7But God himself will shoot them with his arrows, suddenly striking them down.
8So He will make them stumble over their own tongue; All who see them shall flee away.8Their own tongues will ruin them, and all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.
9All men shall fear, And shall declare the work of God; For they shall wisely consider His doing.9Then everyone will be afraid; they will proclaim the mighty acts of God and realize all the amazing things he does.
10The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and trust in Him. And all the upright in heart shall glory.10The godly will rejoice in the LORD and find shelter in him. And those who do what is right will praise him.
