Psalm 120
NKJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionNew Living Translation
1A Song of Ascents. In my distress I cried to the LORD, And He heard me.1I took my troubles to the LORD; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer.
2Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips And from a deceitful tongue.2Rescue me, O LORD, from liars and from all deceitful people.
3What shall be given to you, Or what shall be done to you, You false tongue?3O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you? How will he increase your punishment?
4Sharp arrows of the warrior, With coals of the broom tree!4You will be pierced with sharp arrows and burned with glowing coals.
5Woe is me, that I dwell in Meshech, That I dwell among the tents of Kedar!5How I suffer in far-off Meshech. It pains me to live in distant Kedar.
6My soul has dwelt too long With one who hates peace.6I am tired of living among people who hate peace.
7I am for peace; But when I speak, they are for war.7I search for peace; but when I speak of peace, they want war!
