Psalm 120
NKJV Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New King James VersionInternational Standard Version
1A Song of Ascents. In my distress I cried to the LORD, And He heard me.1I cried to the LORD in my distress, and he responded to me.
2Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips And from a deceitful tongue.2"LORD, deliver me from lips that lie and tongues that deceive."
3What shall be given to you, Or what shall be done to you, You false tongue?3What will be given to you, and what will be done to you, you treacherous tongue?
4Sharp arrows of the warrior, With coals of the broom tree!4Like a sharp arrow from a warrior, along with fiery coals from juniper trees!
5Woe is me, that I dwell in Meshech, That I dwell among the tents of Kedar!5How terrible for me, that I am an alien in Meshech, that I reside among the tents of Kedar!
6My soul has dwelt too long With one who hates peace.6I have resided too long with those who hate peace.
7I am for peace; But when I speak, they are for war.7I am in favor of peace; but when I speak, they are in favor of war.
