Psalm 127
NLT Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationKing James Bible
1Unless the LORD builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the LORD protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good.1A Song of degrees for Solomon. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
2It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.2It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
3Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him.3Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior’s hands.4As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them! He will not be put to shame when he confronts his accusers at the city gates.5Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
