Psalm 25
New Living TranslationKing James Bible
O LORD, I give my life to you.1A Psalm of David. Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
I trust in you, my God! Do not let me be disgraced, or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat.2O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
No one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced, but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others.3Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow.4Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.5Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
Remember, O LORD, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past.6Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O LORD.7Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.
The LORD is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray.8Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way.9The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
The LORD leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands.10All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
For the honor of your name, O LORD, forgive my many, many sins.11For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
Who are those who fear the LORD? He will show them the path they should choose.12What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
They will live in prosperity, and their children will inherit the land.13His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
The LORD is a friend to those who fear him. He teaches them his covenant.14The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
My eyes are always on the LORD, for he rescues me from the traps of my enemies.15Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.
Turn to me and have mercy, for I am alone and in deep distress.16Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.
My problems go from bad to worse. Oh, save me from them all!17The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.
Feel my pain and see my trouble. Forgive all my sins.18Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
See how many enemies I have and how viciously they hate me!19Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
Protect me! Rescue my life from them! Do not let me be disgraced, for in you I take refuge.20O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in you.21Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
O God, ransom Israel from all its troubles.22Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
