Psalm 62
NLT Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationKing James Bible
I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him.1To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.2He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.
So many enemies against one man— all of them trying to kill me. To them I’m just a broken-down wall or a tottering fence.3How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.
They plan to topple me from my high position. They delight in telling lies about me. They praise me to my face but curse me in their hearts. Interlude4They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.
Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him.5My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.6He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.7In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge. Interlude8Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Common people are as worthless as a puff of wind, and the powerful are not what they appear to be. If you weigh them on the scales, together they are lighter than a breath of air.9Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
Don’t make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing. And if your wealth increases, don’t make it the center of your life.10Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
God has spoken plainly, and I have heard it many times: Power, O God, belongs to you;11God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.
unfailing love, O Lord, is yours. Surely you repay all people according to what they have done.12Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.
