New Living TranslationNew American Standard Bible 1995
Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song. Sing his praises in the assembly of the faithful.1Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, And His praise in the congregation of the godly ones.
O Israel, rejoice in your Maker. O people of Jerusalem, exult in your King.2Let Israel be glad in his Maker; Let the sons of Zion rejoice in their King.
Praise his name with dancing, accompanied by tambourine and harp.3Let them praise His name with dancing; Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and lyre.
For the LORD delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.4For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation.
Let the faithful rejoice that he honors them. Let them sing for joy as they lie on their beds.5Let the godly ones exult in glory; Let them sing for joy on their beds.
Let the praises of God be in their mouths, and a sharp sword in their hands—6Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand,
to execute vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,7To execute vengeance on the nations And punishment on the peoples,
to bind their kings with shackles and their leaders with iron chains,8To bind their kings with chains And their nobles with fetters of iron,
to execute the judgment written against them. This is the glorious privilege of his faithful ones. Praise the LORD!9To execute on them the judgment written; This is an honor for all His godly ones. Praise the LORD!
