New Living TranslationInternational Standard Version
Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song. Sing his praises in the assembly of the faithful.1Hallelujah! Sing a new song to the LORD, praising him where the godly gather together.
O Israel, rejoice in your Maker. O people of Jerusalem, exult in your King.2May Israel rejoice in its Maker, and Zion's descendants in their King!
Praise his name with dancing, accompanied by tambourine and harp.3May they praise his name with dancing, chanting songs to him with tambourines and lyres.
For the LORD delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.4For the LORD is pleased with his people; he beautifies the afflicted with salvation.
Let the faithful rejoice that he honors them. Let them sing for joy as they lie on their beds.5May those he loves be exalted, singing for joy on their couches.
Let the praises of God be in their mouths, and a sharp sword in their hands—6Let high praises to God be heard in their throats, while they wield two-edged swords in their hands
to execute vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,7as they bring retribution to nations and punishment to peoples,
to bind their kings with shackles and their leaders with iron chains,8binding their kings with chains, their officials with iron bands,
to execute the judgment written against them. This is the glorious privilege of his faithful ones. Praise the LORD!9and executing the judgment written against them. This is honor for all the ones he loves. Hallelujah!
