Psalm 3
NLT Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNew International Version
1O LORD, I have so many enemies; so many are against me.1A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom. LORD, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me!
2So many are saying, “God will never rescue him!” Interlude2Many are saying of me, "God will not deliver him."
3But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.3But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
4I cried out to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy mountain. Interlude4I call out to the LORD, and he answers me from his holy mountain.
5I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the LORD was watching over me.5I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.
6I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side.6I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side.
7Arise, O LORD! Rescue me, my God! Slap all my enemies in the face! Shatter the teeth of the wicked!7Arise, LORD! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked.
8Victory comes from you, O LORD. May you bless your people. Interlude8From the LORD comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.
