Psalm 3
NLT Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNew American Standard Bible 1995
1O LORD, I have so many enemies; so many are against me.1A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. O LORD, how my adversaries have increased! Many are rising up against me.
2So many are saying, “God will never rescue him!” Interlude2Many are saying of my soul, "There is no deliverance for him in God." Selah.
3But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.3But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head.
4I cried out to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy mountain. Interlude4I was crying to the LORD with my voice, And He answered me from His holy mountain. Selah.
5I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the LORD was watching over me.5I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustains me.
6I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side.6I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me round about.
7Arise, O LORD! Rescue me, my God! Slap all my enemies in the face! Shatter the teeth of the wicked!7Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God! For You have smitten all my enemies on the cheek; You have shattered the teeth of the wicked.
8Victory comes from you, O LORD. May you bless your people. Interlude8Salvation belongs to the LORD; Your blessing be upon Your people! Selah.
