The apostles and brothers throughout Judea soon heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God. Now the apostles and the brothers who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God. And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God. Now the apostles and the brothers and sisters who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God. The apostles and the believers throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.
So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcised believers took issue with him So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcision party criticized him, saying, And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him, And when Peter came up to Jerusalem, the Jewish believers took issue with him, So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcised believers criticized him
and said, “You visited uncircumcised men and ate with them. “You went to uncircumcised men and ate with them.” Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them. saying, “You went to uncircumcised men and ate with them.” and said, “You went into the house of uncircumcised men and ate with them.”
But Peter began and explained to them the whole sequence of events: But Peter began and explained it to them in order: But Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying, But Peter began and explained at length to them in an orderly sequence, saying, Starting from the beginning, Peter told them the whole story:
“I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision of something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came right down to me. “I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision, something like a great sheet descending, being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to me. I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me: “I was in the city of Joppa praying; and in a trance I saw a vision, an object coming down like a great sheet lowered by four corners from the sky; and it came to where I was, “I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision. I saw something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to where I was.
I looked at it closely and saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles, and birds of the air. Looking at it closely, I observed animals and beasts of prey and reptiles and birds of the air. Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. and I stared at it and was thinking about it, and I saw the four-footed animals of the earth, the wild animals, the crawling creatures, and the birds of the sky. I looked into it and saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles and birds.
Then I heard a voice saying to me, ‘Get up, Peter, kill and eat. And I heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise, Peter; kill and eat.’ And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat. I also heard a voice saying to me, ‘Get up, Peter; kill and eat.’ Then I heard a voice telling me, ‘Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.’
‘No, Lord, I said, ‘for nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth. But I said, ‘By no means, Lord; for nothing common or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’ But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth. But I said, ‘By no means, Lord, for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’ “I replied, ‘Surely not, Lord! Nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’
But the voice spoke from heaven a second time, Do not call anything impure that God has made clean. But the voice answered a second time from heaven, ‘What God has made clean, do not call common.’ But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. But a voice from heaven answered a second time, ‘What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy.’ “The voice spoke from heaven a second time, ‘Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.’
This happened three times, and everything was drawn back up into heaven. This happened three times, and all was drawn up again into heaven. And this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven. This happened three times, and everything was drawn back up into the sky. This happened three times, and then it was all pulled up to heaven again.
Just then three men sent to me from Caesarea stopped at the house where I was staying. And behold, at that very moment three men arrived at the house in which we were, sent to me from Caesarea. And, behold, immediately there were three men already come unto the house where I was, sent from Caesarea unto me. And behold, at that moment three men who had been sent to me from Caesarea came up to the house where we were staying. “Right then three men who had been sent to me from Caesarea stopped at the house where I was staying.
The Spirit told me to accompany them without hesitation. These six brothers also went with me, and we entered the man’s home. And the Spirit told me to go with them, making no distinction. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered the man’s house. And the spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man's house: And the Spirit told me to go with them without misgivings. These six brothers also went with me, and we entered the man’s house. The Spirit told me to have no hesitation about going with them. These six brothers also went with me, and we entered the man’s house.
He told us how he had seen an angel standing in his house and saying, ‘Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. And he told us how he had seen the angel stand in his house and say, ‘Send to Joppa and bring Simon who is called Peter; And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter; And he reported to us how he had seen the angel standing in his house, and saying, ‘Send some men to Joppa and have Simon, who is also called Peter, brought here; He told us how he had seen an angel appear in his house and say, ‘Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter.
He will convey to you a message by which you and all your household will be saved. he will declare to you a message by which you will be saved, you and all your household.’ Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved. and he will speak words to you by which you will be saved, you and all your household.’ He will bring you a message through which you and all your household will be saved.’
As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, just as He had fallen upon us at the beginning. As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as on us at the beginning. And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them just as He did upon us at the beginning. “As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as he had come on us at the beginning.
Then I remembered the word of the Lord, as He used to say, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’
So if God gave them the same gift He gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to hinder the work of God? If then God gave the same gift to them as he gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God’s way?” Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God? Therefore, if God gave them the same gift as He also gave to us after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God’s way?” So if God gave them the same gift he gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?”
When they heard this, their objections were put to rest, and they glorified God, saying, “So then, God has granted even the Gentiles repentance unto life. When they heard these things they fell silent. And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life.” When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life. When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying, “Well then, God has also granted to the Gentiles the repentance that leads to life.” When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, “So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life.”
Meanwhile those scattered by the persecution that began with Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the message only to Jews. Now those who were scattered because of the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except Jews. Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only. So then those who were scattered because of the persecution that occurred in connection with Stephen made their way to Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except to Jews alone. Now those who had been scattered by the persecution that broke out when Stephen was killed traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch, spreading the word only among Jews.
But some of them, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and began speaking to the Greeks as well, proclaiming the good news about the Lord Jesus. But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who on coming to Antioch spoke to the Hellenists also, preaching the Lord Jesus. And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus. But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who came to Antioch and began speaking to the Greeks as well, preaching the good news of the Lord Jesus. Some of them, however, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and began to speak to Greeks also, telling them the good news about the Lord Jesus.
The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord. And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number who believed turned to the Lord. And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord. And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a large number who believed turned to the Lord. The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.
When news of this reached the ears of the church in Jerusalem, they sent Barnabas to Antioch. The report of this came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch. The news about them reached the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas off to Antioch. News of this reached the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch.
When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he rejoiced and encouraged them all to abide in the Lord with all their hearts. When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose, Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord. Then when he arrived and witnessed the grace of God, he rejoiced and began to encourage them all with resolute heart to remain true to the Lord; When he arrived and saw what the grace of God had done, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts.
Barnabas was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord. for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord. For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord. for he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and faith. And considerable numbers were added to the Lord. He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.
Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, So Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul: And he left for Tarsus to look for Saul; Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul,
and when he found him, he brought him back to Antioch. So for a full year they met together with the church and taught large numbers of people. The disciples were first called Christians at Antioch. and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught a great many people. And in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians. And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. And for an entire year they met with the church and taught considerable numbers of people; and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.
In those days some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. Now in these days prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch. Now at this time some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. During this time some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.
One of them named Agabus stood up and predicted through the Spirit that a great famine would sweep across the whole world. (This happened under Claudius.) And one of them named Agabus stood up and foretold by the Spirit that there would be a great famine over all the world (this took place in the days of Claudius). And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar. One of them, named Agabus, stood up and indicated by the Spirit that there would definitely be a severe famine all over the world. And this took place in the reign of Claudius. One of them, named Agabus, stood up and through the Spirit predicted that a severe famine would spread over the entire Roman world. (This happened during the reign of Claudius.)
So the disciples, each according to his ability, decided to send relief to the brothers living in Judea. So the disciples determined, every one according to his ability, to send relief to the brothers living in Judea. Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea: And to the extent that any of the disciples had means, each of them determined to send a contribution for the relief of the brothers and sisters living in Judea. The disciples, as each one was able, decided to provide help for the brothers and sisters living in Judea.
This they did, sending their gifts to the elders with Barnabas and Saul. And they did so, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul. Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul. And they did this, sending it with Barnabas and Saul to the elders. This they did, sending their gift to the elders by Barnabas and Saul.
