NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
1So Abram went up from Egypt to the Negev, with his wife and everything he had, and Lot went with him.1So Abram went up from Egypt, he and his wife and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the Negeb.1So Abram went up from Egypt to the Negev, he and his wife and all that belonged to him, and Lot with him.1And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.1Then Abram went up from Egypt to the Negev--he, his wife, and all he had, and Lot with him.
2Abram had become very wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold.2Now Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.2Now Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver and in gold.2And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.2Abram was very rich in livestock, silver, and gold.
3From the Negev he went from place to place until he came to Bethel, to the place between Bethel and Ai where his tent had been earlier3And he journeyed on from the Negeb as far as Bethel to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai,3He went on his journeys from the Negev as far as Bethel, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai,3And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai;3He went by stages from the Negev to Bethel, to the place between Bethel and Ai where his tent had formerly been,
4and where he had first built an altar. There Abram called on the name of the LORD.4to the place where he had made an altar at the first. And there Abram called upon the name of the LORD.4to the place of the altar which he had made there formerly; and there Abram called on the name of the LORD.4Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the LORD.4to the site where he had built the altar. And Abram called on the name of Yahweh there.

5Now Lot, who was moving about with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents.5And Lot, who went with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents,5Now Lot, who went with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents.5And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.5Now Lot, who was traveling with Abram, also had flocks, herds, and tents.
6But the land could not support them while they stayed together, for their possessions were so great that they were not able to stay together.6so that the land could not support both of them dwelling together; for their possessions were so great that they could not dwell together,6And the land could not sustain them while dwelling together, for their possessions were so great that they were not able to remain together.6And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.6But the land was unable to support them as long as they stayed together, for they had so many possessions that they could not stay together,
7And quarreling arose between Abram's herders and Lot's. The Canaanites and Perizzites were also living in the land at that time.7and there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram’s livestock and the herdsmen of Lot’s livestock. At that time the Canaanites and the Perizzites were dwelling in the land.7And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram's livestock and the herdsmen of Lot's livestock. Now the Canaanite and the Perizzite were dwelling then in the land.7And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land.7and there was quarreling between the herdsmen of Abram's livestock and the herdsmen of Lot's livestock. At that time the Canaanites and the Perizzites were living in the land.
8So Abram said to Lot, "Let's not have any quarreling between you and me, or between your herders and mine, for we are close relatives.8Then Abram said to Lot, “Let there be no strife between you and me, and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, for we are kinsmen.8So Abram said to Lot, "Please let there be no strife between you and me, nor between my herdsmen and your herdsmen, for we are brothers.8And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.8Then Abram said to Lot, "Please, let's not have quarreling between you and me, or between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, since we are relatives.
9Is not the whole land before you? Let's part company. If you go to the left, I'll go to the right; if you go to the right, I'll go to the left."9Is not the whole land before you? Separate yourself from me. If you take the left hand, then I will go to the right, or if you take the right hand, then I will go to the left.”9"Is not the whole land before you? Please separate from me; if to the left, then I will go to the right; or if to the right, then I will go to the left."9Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.9Isn't the whole land before you? Separate from me: if you go to the left, I will go to the right; if you go to the right, I will go to the left."

Lot Pitches Toward Sodom

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
10Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan toward Zoar was well watered, like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt. (This was before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.)10And Lot lifted up his eyes and saw that the Jordan Valley was well watered everywhere like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, in the direction of Zoar. (This was before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.)10Lot lifted up his eyes and saw all the valley of the Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere-- this was before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah-- like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt as you go to Zoar.10And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.10Lot looked out and saw that the entire Jordan Valley as far as Zoar was well watered everywhere like the LORD's garden and the land of Egypt. This was before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.
11So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan and set out toward the east. The two men parted company:11So Lot chose for himself all the Jordan Valley, and Lot journeyed east. Thus they separated from each other.11So Lot chose for himself all the valley of the Jordan, and Lot journeyed eastward. Thus they separated from each other.11Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.11So Lot chose the entire Jordan Valley for himself. Then Lot journeyed eastward, and they separated from each other.
12Abram lived in the land of Canaan, while Lot lived among the cities of the plain and pitched his tents near Sodom.12Abram settled in the land of Canaan, while Lot settled among the cities of the valley and moved his tent as far as Sodom.12Abram settled in the land of Canaan, while Lot settled in the cities of the valley, and moved his tents as far as Sodom.12Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.12Abram lived in the land of Canaan, but Lot lived in the cities of the valley and set up his tent near Sodom.
13Now the people of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the LORD.13Now the men of Sodom were wicked, great sinners against the LORD.13Now the men of Sodom were wicked exceedingly and sinners against the LORD.13But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.13Now the men of Sodom were evil, sinning greatly against the LORD.

God Renews the Promise to Abram

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
14The LORD said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, "Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west.14The LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, “Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward,14The LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, "Now lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward;14And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:14After Lot had separated from him, the LORD said to Abram, "Look from the place where you are. Look north and south, east and west,
15All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever.15for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your offspring forever.15for all the land which you see, I will give it to you and to your descendants forever.15For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.15for I will give you and your offspring forever all the land that you see.
16I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted.16I will make your offspring as the dust of the earth, so that if one can count the dust of the earth, your offspring also can be counted.16"I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth, so that if anyone can number the dust of the earth, then your descendants can also be numbered.16And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.16I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust of the earth, then your offspring could be counted.
17Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you."17Arise, walk through the length and the breadth of the land, for I will give it to you.”17"Arise, walk about the land through its length and breadth; for I will give it to you."17Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.17Get up and walk around the land, through its length and width, for I will give it to you."
18So Abram went to live near the great trees of Mamre at Hebron, where he pitched his tents. There he built an altar to the LORD.18So Abram moved his tent and came and settled by the oaks of Mamre, which are at Hebron, and there he built an altar to the LORD.18Then Abram moved his tent and came and dwelt by the oaks of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and there he built an altar to the LORD.18Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.18So Abram moved his tent and went to live near the oaks of Mamre at Hebron, where he built an altar to the LORD.
