Joseph and Potiphar's Wife

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. Potiphar, an Egyptian who was one of Pharaoh's officials, the captain of the guard, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him there.1Now Joseph had been brought down to Egypt, and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, the captain of the guard, an Egyptian, had bought him from the Ishmaelites who had brought him down there.1Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an Egyptian officer of Pharaoh, the captain of the bodyguard, bought him from the Ishmaelites, who had taken him down there.1And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither.1Now Joseph had been taken to Egypt. An Egyptian named Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh and the captain of the guard, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had brought him there.
The LORD was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master.2The LORD was with Joseph, and he became a successful man, and he was in the house of his Egyptian master.2The LORD was with Joseph, so he became a successful man. And he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian.2And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.2The LORD was with Joseph, and he became a successful man, serving in the household of his Egyptian master.
When his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did,3His master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD caused all that he did to succeed in his hands.3Now his master saw that the LORD was with him and how the LORD caused all that he did to prosper in his hand.3And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.3When his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made everything he did successful,
Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.4So Joseph found favor in his sight and attended him, and he made him overseer of his house and put him in charge of all that he had.4So Joseph found favor in his sight and became his personal servant; and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he owned he put in his charge.4And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.4Joseph found favor in his master's sight and became his personal attendant. Potiphar also put him in charge of his household and placed all that he owned under his authority.

From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the LORD blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the LORD was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field.5From the time that he made him overseer in his house and over all that he had, the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; the blessing of the LORD was on all that he had, in house and field.5It came about that from the time he made him overseer in his house and over all that he owned, the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house on account of Joseph; thus the LORD'S blessing was upon all that he owned, in the house and in the field.5And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.5From the time that he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house because of Joseph. The LORD's blessing was on all that he owned, in his house and in his fields.
So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph's care; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate. Now Joseph was well-built and handsome,6So he left all that he had in Joseph’s charge, and because of him he had no concern about anything but the food he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.6So he left everything he owned in Joseph's charge; and with him there he did not concern himself with anything except the food which he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.6And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured.6He left all that he owned under Joseph's authority; he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate. Now Joseph was well-built and handsome.
and after a while his master's wife took notice of Joseph and said, "Come to bed with me!"7And after a time his master’s wife cast her eyes on Joseph and said, “Lie with me.”7It came about after these events that his master's wife looked with desire at Joseph, and she said, "Lie with me."7And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.7After some time his master's wife looked longingly at Joseph and said, "Sleep with me."
But he refused. "With me in charge," he told her, "my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care.8But he refused and said to his master’s wife, “Behold, because of me my master has no concern about anything in the house, and he has put everything that he has in my charge.8But he refused and said to his master's wife, "Behold, with me here, my master does not concern himself with anything in the house, and he has put all that he owns in my charge.8But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;8But he refused. "Look," he said to his master's wife, "with me here my master does not concern himself with anything in his house, and he has put all that he owns under my authority.
No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?"9He is not greater in this house than I am, nor has he kept back anything from me except you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?”9"There is no one greater in this house than I, and he has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do this great evil and sin against God?"9There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?9No one in this house is greater than I am. He has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. So how could I do such a great evil and sin against God?"

And though she spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her or even be with her.10And as she spoke to Joseph day after day, he would not listen to her, to lie beside her or to be with her.10As she spoke to Joseph day after day, he did not listen to her to lie beside her or be with her.10And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.10Although she spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her.
One day he went into the house to attend to his duties, and none of the household servants was inside.11But one day, when he went into the house to do his work and none of the men of the house was there in the house,11Now it happened one day that he went into the house to do his work, and none of the men of the household was there inside.11And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within.11Now one day he went into the house to do his work, and none of the household servants were there.
She caught him by his cloak and said, "Come to bed with me!" But he left his cloak in her hand and ran out of the house.12she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” But he left his garment in her hand and fled and got out of the house.12She caught him by his garment, saying, "Lie with me!" And he left his garment in her hand and fled, and went outside.12And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.12She grabbed him by his garment and said, "Sleep with me!" But leaving his garment in her hand, he escaped and ran outside.

When she saw that he had left his cloak in her hand and had run out of the house,13And as soon as she saw that he had left his garment in her hand and had fled out of the house,13When she saw that he had left his garment in her hand and had fled outside,13And it came to pass, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and was fled forth,13When she saw that he had left his garment with her and had run outside,
she called her household servants. "Look," she said to them, "this Hebrew has been brought to us to make sport of us! He came in here to sleep with me, but I screamed.14she called to the men of her household and said to them, “See, he has brought among us a Hebrew to laugh at us. He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried out with a loud voice.14she called to the men of her household and said to them, "See, he has brought in a Hebrew to us to make sport of us; he came in to me to lie with me, and I screamed.14That she called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he hath brought in an Hebrew unto us to mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice:14she called the household servants. "Look," she said to them, "my husband brought a Hebrew man to make fools of us. He came to me so he could sleep with me, and I screamed as loud as I could.
When he heard me scream for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house."15And as soon as he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried out, he left his garment beside me and fled and got out of the house.”15"When he heard that I raised my voice and screamed, he left his garment beside me and fled and went outside."15And it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled, and got him out.15When he heard me screaming for help, he left his garment with me and ran outside."
She kept his cloak beside her until his master came home.16Then she laid up his garment by her until his master came home,16So she left his garment beside her until his master came home.16And she laid up his garment by her, until his lord came home.16She put Joseph's garment beside her until his master came home.
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
Then she told him this story: "That Hebrew slave you brought us came to me to make sport of me.17and she told him the same story, saying, “The Hebrew servant, whom you have brought among us, came in to me to laugh at me.17Then she spoke to him with these words, "The Hebrew slave, whom you brought to us, came in to me to make sport of me;17And she spake unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant, which thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to mock me:17Then she told him the same story: "The Hebrew slave you brought to us came to make a fool of me,
But as soon as I screamed for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house."18But as soon as I lifted up my voice and cried, he left his garment beside me and fled out of the house.”18and as I raised my voice and screamed, he left his garment beside me and fled outside."18And it came to pass, as I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled out.18but when I screamed for help, he left his garment with me and ran outside."
When his master heard the story his wife told him, saying, "This is how your slave treated me," he burned with anger.19As soon as his master heard the words that his wife spoke to him, “This is the way your servant treated me,” his anger was kindled.19Now when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spoke to him, saying, "This is what your slave did to me," his anger burned.19And it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him, saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled.19When his master heard the story his wife told him--"These are the things your slave did to me"--he was furious
Joseph's master took him and put him in prison, the place where the king's prisoners were confined. But while Joseph was there in the prison,20And Joseph’s master took him and put him into the prison, the place where the king’s prisoners were confined, and he was there in prison.20So Joseph's master took him and put him into the jail, the place where the king's prisoners were confined; and he was there in the jail.20And Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison.20and had him thrown into prison, where the king's prisoners were confined. So Joseph was there in prison.
the LORD was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden.21But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.21But the LORD was with Joseph and extended kindness to him, and gave him favor in the sight of the chief jailer.21But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.21But the LORD was with Joseph and extended kindness to him. He granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden.
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there.22And the keeper of the prison put Joseph in charge of all the prisoners who were in the prison. Whatever was done there, he was the one who did it.22The chief jailer committed to Joseph's charge all the prisoners who were in the jail; so that whatever was done there, he was responsible for it.22And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it.22The warden put all the prisoners who were in the prison under Joseph's authority, and he was responsible for everything that was done there.
The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph's care, because the LORD was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.23The keeper of the prison paid no attention to anything that was in Joseph’s charge, because the LORD was with him. And whatever he did, the LORD made it succeed.23The chief jailer did not supervise anything under Joseph's charge because the LORD was with him; and whatever he did, the LORD made to prosper.23The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper.23The warden did not bother with anything under Joseph's authority, because the LORD was with him, and the LORD made everything that he did successful.
