God's Judgment on the Nations

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
1Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah, with his garments stained crimson? Who is this, robed in splendor, striding forward in the greatness of his strength? "It is I, proclaiming victory, mighty to save."1Who is this who comes from Edom, in crimsoned garments from Bozrah, he who is splendid in his apparel, marching in the greatness of his strength? “It is I, speaking in righteousness, mighty to save.”1Who is this who comes from Edom, With garments of glowing colors from Bozrah, This One who is majestic in His apparel, Marching in the greatness of His strength? "It is I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save."1Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.1Who is this coming from Edom in crimson-stained garments from Bozrah-- this One who is splendid in His apparel, rising up proudly in His great might? It is I, proclaiming vindication, powerful to save.
2Why are your garments red, like those of one treading the winepress?2Why is your apparel red, and your garments like his who treads in the winepress?2Why is Your apparel red, And Your garments like the one who treads in the wine press?2Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?2Why are Your clothes red, and Your garments like one who treads a winepress?
3"I have trodden the winepress alone; from the nations no one was with me. I trampled them in my anger and trod them down in my wrath; their blood spattered my garments, and I stained all my clothing.3“I have trodden the winepress alone, and from the peoples no one was with me; I trod them in my anger and trampled them in my wrath; their lifeblood spattered on my garments, and stained all my apparel.3"I have trodden the wine trough alone, And from the peoples there was no man with Me. I also trod them in My anger And trampled them in My wrath; And their lifeblood is sprinkled on My garments, And I stained all My raiment.3I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.3I trampled the winepress alone, and no one from the nations was with Me. I trampled them in My anger and ground them underfoot in My fury; their blood spattered My garments, and all My clothes were stained.
4It was for me the day of vengeance; the year for me to redeem had come.4For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and my year of redemption had come.4"For the day of vengeance was in My heart, And My year of redemption has come.4For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.4For I planned the day of vengeance, and the year of My redemption came.

5I looked, but there was no one to help, I was appalled that no one gave support; so my own arm achieved salvation for me, and my own wrath sustained me.5I looked, but there was no one to help; I was appalled, but there was no one to uphold; so my own arm brought me salvation, and my wrath upheld me.5"I looked, and there was no one to help, And I was astonished and there was no one to uphold; So My own arm brought salvation to Me, And My wrath upheld Me.5And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.5I looked, but there was no one to help, and I was amazed that no one assisted; so My arm accomplished victory for Me, and My wrath assisted Me.
6I trampled the nations in my anger; in my wrath I made them drunk and poured their blood on the ground."6I trampled down the peoples in my anger; I made them drunk in my wrath, and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth.”6"I trod down the peoples in My anger And made them drunk in My wrath, And I poured out their lifeblood on the earth."6And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.6I crushed nations in My anger; I made them drunk with My wrath and poured out their blood on the ground.

God's Mercies Recalled

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
7I will tell of the kindnesses of the LORD, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the LORD has done for us-- yes, the many good things he has done for Israel, according to his compassion and many kindnesses.7I will recount the steadfast love of the LORD, the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD has granted us, and the great goodness to the house of Israel that he has granted them according to his compassion, according to the abundance of his steadfast love.7I shall make mention of the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, the praises of the LORD, According to all that the LORD has granted us, And the great goodness toward the house of Israel, Which He has granted them according to His compassion And according to the abundance of His lovingkindnesses.7I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.7I will make known the LORD's faithful love and the LORD's praiseworthy acts, because of all the LORD has done for us-- even the many good things He has done for the house of Israel and has done for them based on His compassion and the abundance of His faithful love.
8He said, "Surely they are my people, children who will be true to me"; and so he became their Savior.8For he said, “Surely they are my people, children who will not deal falsely.” And he became their Savior.8For He said, "Surely, they are My people, Sons who will not deal falsely." So He became their Savior.8For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour.8He said, "They are indeed My people, children who will not be disloyal," and He became their Savior.
9In all their distress he too was distressed, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and mercy he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.9In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them; in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.9In all their affliction He was afflicted, And the angel of His presence saved them; In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them, And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old.9In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.9In all their suffering, He suffered, and the Angel of His Presence saved them. He redeemed them because of His love and compassion; He lifted them up and carried them all the days of the past.
10Yet they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. So he turned and became their enemy and he himself fought against them.10But they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit; therefore he turned to be their enemy, and himself fought against them.10But they rebelled And grieved His Holy Spirit; Therefore He turned Himself to become their enemy, He fought against them.10But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.10But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit. So He became their enemy and fought against them.

11Then his people recalled the days of old, the days of Moses and his people-- where is he who brought them through the sea, with the shepherd of his flock? Where is he who set his Holy Spirit among them,11Then he remembered the days of old, of Moses and his people. Where is he who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he who put in the midst of them his Holy Spirit,11Then His people remembered the days of old, of Moses. Where is He who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit in the midst of them,11Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit within him?11Then He remembered the days of the past, the days of Moses and his people. Where is He who brought them out of the sea with the shepherds of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit among the flock?
12who sent his glorious arm of power to be at Moses' right hand, who divided the waters before them, to gain for himself everlasting renown,12who caused his glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses, who divided the waters before them to make for himself an everlasting name,12Who caused His glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses, Who divided the waters before them to make for Himself an everlasting name,12That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?12He sent His glorious arm to be at Moses' right hand, divided the waters before them to obtain eternal fame for Himself,
13who led them through the depths? Like a horse in open country, they did not stumble;13who led them through the depths? Like a horse in the desert, they did not stumble.13Who led them through the depths? Like the horse in the wilderness, they did not stumble;13That led them through the deep, as an horse in the wilderness, that they should not stumble?13and led them through the depths like a horse in the wilderness, so that they did not stumble.
14like cattle that go down to the plain, they were given rest by the Spirit of the LORD. This is how you guided your people to make for yourself a glorious name.14Like livestock that go down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD gave them rest. So you led your people, to make for yourself a glorious name.14As the cattle which go down into the valley, The Spirit of the LORD gave them rest. So You led Your people, To make for Yourself a glorious name.14As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.14Like cattle that go down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD gave them rest. You led Your people this way to make a glorious name for Yourself.

Prayer for Mercy

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
15Look down from heaven and see, from your lofty throne, holy and glorious. Where are your zeal and your might? Your tenderness and compassion are withheld from us.15Look down from heaven and see, from your holy and beautiful habitation. Where are your zeal and your might? The stirring of your inner parts and your compassion are held back from me.15Look down from heaven and see from Your holy and glorious habitation; Where are Your zeal and Your mighty deeds? The stirrings of Your heart and Your compassion are restrained toward me.15Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where is thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy mercies toward me? are they restrained?15Look down from heaven and see from Your lofty home--holy and beautiful. Where is Your zeal and Your might? Your yearning and Your compassion are withheld from me.
16But you are our Father, though Abraham does not know us or Israel acknowledge us; you, LORD, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is your name.16For you are our Father, though Abraham does not know us, and Israel does not acknowledge us; you, O LORD, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is your name.16For You are our Father, though Abraham does not know us And Israel does not recognize us. You, O LORD, are our Father, Our Redeemer from of old is Your name.16Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.16Yet You are our Father, even though Abraham does not know us and Israel doesn't recognize us. You, Yahweh, are our Father; from ancient times, Your name is our Redeemer.
17Why, LORD, do you make us wander from your ways and harden our hearts so we do not revere you? Return for the sake of your servants, the tribes that are your inheritance.17O LORD, why do you make us wander from your ways and harden our heart, so that we fear you not? Return for the sake of your servants, the tribes of your heritage.17Why, O LORD, do You cause us to stray from Your ways And harden our heart from fearing You? Return for the sake of Your servants, the tribes of Your heritage.17O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.17Why, Yahweh, do You make us stray from Your ways? You harden our hearts so we do not fear You. Return, because of Your servants, the tribes of Your heritage.
18For a little while your people possessed your holy place, but now our enemies have trampled down your sanctuary.18Your holy people held possession for a little while; our adversaries have trampled down your sanctuary.18Your holy people possessed Your sanctuary for a little while, Our adversaries have trodden it down.18The people of thy holiness have possessed it but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary.18Your holy people had a possession for a little while, but our enemies have trampled down Your sanctuary.
19We are yours from of old; but you have not ruled over them, they have not been called by your name.19We have become like those over whom you have never ruled, like those who are not called by your name.19We have become like those over whom You have never ruled, Like those who were not called by Your name.19We are thine: thou never barest rule over them; they were not called by thy name.19We have become like those You never ruled over, like those not called by Your name.
