Temptations and Trespasses
(Matthew 18:6–9; Mark 9:42–48)

1And He said to His disciples, "It is impossible but that occasions of stumbling should come; but woe to him through whom they come! 2It were profitable for him, if a millstone were placed about his neck, and he thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble. 3Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him; and, if he repents, forgive him. 4And, if he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times turns to you, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him."

The Power of Faith
(Matthew 17:19–20)

5And the apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith." 6And the Lord said, "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye would say to this sycamine tree, 'Be rooted up, and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.

7But who is there of you, having a servant plowing, or tending sheep, that will say to him, having come in from the field, 'Coming straightway, recline at table;' 8and will not rather say to him, 'Make ready wherewith I may sup; and, having girded yourself, serve me, until I eat and drink; and afterward you shall eat and drink?' 9Does he thank the servant, because he did the things that were commanded? 10So also ye, when ye do all the things that were commanded you, say, 'We are unprofitable servants; we have done what it was our duty to do.'

The Ten Lepers

11And it came to pass, when He was journeying to Jerusalem, that He was passing through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12And, as He was entering into a certain village, there met Him ten leprous men, who stood afar off; 13and they lifted up their voice, saying, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!" 14And, when He saw them, He said to them, "Going your way, show yourselves to the priests." And it came to pass that, as they went, they were cleansed. 15And one of them, seeing that he was cleansed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice, 16and fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him; and he was a Samaritan. 17And Jesus, answering, said, "Were not the ten cleansed? Where are the nine? 18Were none found, returning to give glory to God, except this stranger?" 19And He said to him, "Arising, go on your way; your faith has made you whole."

The Coming of the Kingdom

20And being asked by the Pharisees, when the Kingdom of God is coming, He answered them, and said, "The Kingdom of God comes not with observation; 21nor will they say, 'Lo, here!' or, 'Lo, there!' for, behold, the Kingdom of God is within you."

22And He said to the disciples, "There will come days, when ye will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and ye will not see it. 23And they will say to you, 'Lo, there!' or "Lo, here!' go not away, nor follow after them. 24For, as the lightning, flashing out of one part under heaven, shines to the other part under heaven; so shall be the Son of Man. 25But first He must suffer many things, and be rejected by this generation. 26"And, as it happened in the days of Noah, so will it be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were given in marriage, until the day on which Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. 28Likewise, also, as it happened in the days of Lot; they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; 29but on the day on which Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all: 30after the same manner shall it be in the day the Son of Man is revealed. 31"In that day let him who shall be on the housetop and his goods in the house not come down to take them away: and let him who is in the field likewise not return back. 32Remember Lot's wife. 33Whosoever shall seek to gain his soul shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose it, will preserve it. 34I say to you, in that night there will be two men on one bed; the one will be taken, and the other will be left. 35There will be two women grinding together; the one will be taken, and the other will be left." 36OMITTED TEXT. 37And, answering, they say to Him, "Where, Lord?" and He said to them, "Where the body is, there will the eagles also be gathered together."
