Thanksgiving and Prayer

9  Διὰ (Because of) τοῦτο (this) καὶ (also) ἡμεῖς (we), ἀφ’ (from) ἧς (the) ἡμέρας (day) ἠκούσαμεν (we heard), οὐ (not) παυόμεθα (cease) ὑπὲρ (for) ὑμῶν (you⁺) προσευχόμενοι (praying) καὶ (and) αἰτούμενοι (asking) ἵνα (that) πληρωθῆτε (you⁺ may be filled with) τὴν (the) ἐπίγνωσιν (knowledge) τοῦ (of the) θελήματος (will) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἐν (in) πάσῃ (all) σοφίᾳ (wisdom) καὶ (and) συνέσει (understanding) πνευματικῇ (spiritual), 10  περιπατῆσαι (to walk) ἀξίως (worthily) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) εἰς (in) πᾶσαν (all) ἀρεσκείαν (pleasing), ἐν (in) παντὶ (every) ἔργῳ (work) ἀγαθῷ (good) καρποφοροῦντες (bearing fruit) καὶ (and) αὐξανόμενοι (growing) τῇ (in the) ἐπιγνώσει (knowledge) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), 11  ἐν (with) πάσῃ (all) δυνάμει (power) δυναμούμενοι (being empowered) κατὰ (according to) τὸ (the) κράτος (power) τῆς (of the) δόξης (glory) αὐτοῦ (of Him) εἰς (unto) πᾶσαν (all) ὑπομονὴν (endurance) καὶ (and) μακροθυμίαν (patience), μετὰ (with) χαρᾶς (joy) 12  εὐχαριστοῦντες (giving thanks) τῷ (to the) Πατρὶ (Father) τῷ (the One) ἱκανώσαντι (having qualified) ὑμᾶς (you⁺) εἰς (for) τὴν (the) μερίδα (share) τοῦ (of the) κλήρου (inheritance) τῶν (of the) ἁγίων (saints) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) φωτί (light)· 13  ὃς (who) ἐρρύσατο (delivered) ἡμᾶς (us) ἐκ (from) τῆς (the) ἐξουσίας (authority) τοῦ (-) σκότους (of darkness) καὶ (and) μετέστησεν (transferred us) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) βασιλείαν (kingdom) τοῦ (of the) Υἱοῦ (Son) τῆς (-) ἀγάπης (beloved) αὐτοῦ (of Him), 14  ἐν (in) ᾧ (whom) ἔχομεν (we have) τὴν (-) ἀπολύτρωσιν (redemption), τὴν (the) ἄφεσιν (forgiveness) τῶν (-) ἁμαρτιῶν (of sins)·

17  Καὶ (And) αὐτός (He) ἐστιν (is) πρὸ (before) πάντων (all things) καὶ (and) τὰ (-) πάντα (all things) ἐν (in) αὐτῷ (Him) συνέστηκεν (hold together), 18  καὶ (And) αὐτός (He) ἐστιν (is) ἡ (the) κεφαλὴ (head) τοῦ (of the) σώματος (body), τῆς (the) ἐκκλησίας (church)· ὅς (who) ἐστιν (is) ἡ (the) ἀρχή (beginning), πρωτότοκος (firstborn) ἐκ (out from) τῶν (the) νεκρῶν (dead), ἵνα (so that) γένηται (might be) ἐν (in) πᾶσιν (all things) αὐτὸς (He) πρωτεύων (having preeminence), 19  ὅτι (because) ἐν (in) αὐτῷ (Him) εὐδόκησεν (was well pleased) πᾶν (all) τὸ (the) πλήρωμα (fullness) κατοικῆσαι (to dwell) 20  καὶ (and) δι’ (through) αὐτοῦ (Him) ἀποκαταλλάξαι (to reconcile) τὰ (-) πάντα (all things) εἰς (to) αὐτόν (Himself), εἰρηνοποιήσας (having made peace) διὰ (through) τοῦ (the) αἵματος (blood) τοῦ (of the) σταυροῦ (cross) αὐτοῦ (of Him), δι’ (through) αὐτοῦ (Him) εἴτε (whether) τὰ (the things) ἐπὶ (on) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth) εἴτε (or) τὰ (the things) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) οὐρανοῖς (heavens).

21  Καὶ (And) ὑμᾶς (you⁺) ποτε (once) ὄντας (being) ἀπηλλοτριωμένους (alienated) καὶ (and) ἐχθροὺς (enemies) τῇ (in the) διανοίᾳ (mind) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) ἔργοις (works) τοῖς (-) πονηροῖς (evil), 22  νυνὶ (now) δὲ (however) ἀποκατήλλαξεν (He has reconciled you) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) σώματι (body) τῆς (of) σαρκὸς (flesh) αὐτοῦ (of Him) διὰ (through) τοῦ (-) θανάτου (death), παραστῆσαι (to present) ὑμᾶς (you⁺) ἁγίους (holy) καὶ (and) ἀμώμους (unblemished) καὶ (and) ἀνεγκλήτους (blameless) κατενώπιον (before) αὐτοῦ (Him), 23  εἴ (if) γε (indeed) ἐπιμένετε (you⁺ continue) τῇ (-) πίστει (in the faith) τεθεμελιωμένοι (established) καὶ (and) ἑδραῖοι (steadfast) καὶ (and) μὴ (not) μετακινούμενοι (being moved away) ἀπὸ (from) τῆς (the) ἐλπίδος (hope) τοῦ (of the) εὐαγγελίου (gospel) οὗ (that) ἠκούσατε (you⁺ heard), τοῦ (the one) κηρυχθέντος (having been proclaimed) ἐν (in) πάσῃ (all) κτίσει (creation) τῇ (-) ὑπὸ (under) τὸν (-) οὐρανόν (heaven), οὗ (of which) ἐγενόμην (became) ἐγὼ (I) Παῦλος (Paul) διάκονος (a minister).
