Deliver Me, O LORD!
(2 Samuel 15:13–29)

מִזְמ֥וֹר (A Psalm) לְדָוִ֑ד (of David), בְּ֝בָרְח֗וֹ (in his fleeing) מִפְּנֵ֤י׀ (from the face) אַבְשָׁל֬וֹם (of Absalom) בְּנֽוֹ׃ (his son).

1יְ֭הוָה (O YHWH), מָֽה־ (how) רַבּ֣וּ (they are many) צָרָ֑י (my adversaries)!

רַ֝בִּ֗ים (Many are) קָמִ֥ים (rising up) עָלָֽי׃ (against me)!

2  רַבִּים֮ (Many) אֹמְרִ֪ים (are saying) לְנַ֫פְשִׁ֥י (of my soul),

אֵ֤ין (There is no) יְֽשׁוּעָ֓תָה (salvation) לּ֬וֹ (for him) בֵֽאלֹהִ֬ים (in God).

סֶֽלָה׃ (Selah).

3  וְאַתָּ֣ה (And You are) יְ֭הוָה (O YHWH), מָגֵ֣ן (are a shield) בַּעֲדִ֑י (behind me),

כְּ֝בוֹדִ֗י (my glory), וּמֵרִ֥ים (and the one lifting high) רֹאשִֽׁי׃ (my head).

4  ק֭וֹלִי (With my voice) אֶל־ (to) יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) אֶקְרָ֑א (I cry),

וַיַּֽעֲנֵ֨נִי (and He answers me) מֵהַ֖ר (from the mountain) קָדְשׁ֣וֹ (of His holiness).

סֶֽלָה׃ (Selah).

5  אֲנִ֥י (I) שָׁכַ֗בְתִּי (lie down) וָֽאִ֫ישָׁ֥נָה (and sleep);

הֱקִיצ֑וֹתִי (I awake) כִּ֖י (for) יְהוָ֣ה (YHWH) יִסְמְכֵֽנִי׃ (sustains me).

6  לֹֽא־ (Not) אִ֭ירָא (shall I fear) מֵרִבְב֥וֹת (the multitudes) עָ֑ם (of people),

אֲשֶׁ֥ר (who) סָ֝בִ֗יב (all around) שָׁ֣תוּ (have set themselves) עָלָֽי׃ (against me).

7  ק֘וּמָ֤ה (Arise), יְהוָ֨ה׀ (O YHWH)!

הוֹשִׁ֘יעֵ֤נִי (Save me) אֱלֹהַ֗י (O my God)!

כִּֽי־ (O that) הִכִּ֣יתָ (You would strike) אֶת־ (-) כָּל־ (all) אֹיְבַ֣י (my enemies) לֶ֑חִי (on the jaw);

שִׁנֵּ֖י (the teeth) רְשָׁעִ֣ים (of the wicked) שִׁבַּֽרְתָּ׃ (may you break).

8  לַיהוָ֥ה (Unto YHWH) הַיְשׁוּעָ֑ה (is the salvation);

עַֽל־ (upon) עַמְּךָ֖ (Your people) בִרְכָתֶ֣ךָ (be Your blessing).

סֶּֽלָה׃ (Selah).
