1 Ὑπομίμνῃσκε (Remind) αὐτοὺς (them) ἀρχαῖς (to rulers) ἐξουσίαις (to authorities) ὑποτάσσεσθαι (to be subject), πειθαρχεῖν (to obey rulers), πρὸς (for) πᾶν (every) ἔργον (work) ἀγαθὸν (good) ἑτοίμους (ready) εἶναι (to be), 2 μηδένα (no one) βλασφημεῖν (to speak evil of), ἀμάχους (not quarrelsome) εἶναι (to be), ἐπιεικεῖς (gentle), πᾶσαν (all) ἐνδεικνυμένους (showing) πραΰτητα (meekness) πρὸς (toward) πάντας (all) ἀνθρώπους (men).

3 Ἦμεν (Were) γάρ (for) ποτε (once) καὶ (also) ἡμεῖς (we) ἀνόητοι (foolish), ἀπειθεῖς (disobedient), πλανώμενοι (being deceived), δουλεύοντες (being in slavery to) ἐπιθυμίαις (lusts) καὶ (and) ἡδοναῖς (pleasures) ποικίλαις (various), ἐν (in) κακίᾳ (malice) καὶ (and) φθόνῳ (envy) διάγοντες (living), στυγητοί (hateful), μισοῦντες (hating) ἀλλήλους (one another).

4 Ὅτε (When) δὲ (however) ἡ (the) χρηστότης (kindness) καὶ (and) ἡ (the) φιλανθρωπία (love of mankind) ἐπεφάνη (appeared) τοῦ (of the) Σωτῆρος (Savior) ἡμῶν (of us) Θεοῦ (God), 5 οὐκ (not) ἐξ (by) ἔργων (works) τῶν (-) ἐν (in) δικαιοσύνῃ (righteousness) ἃ (that) ἐποιήσαμεν (did) ἡμεῖς (we) ἀλλὰ (but) κατὰ (according to) τὸ (-) αὐτοῦ (His) ἔλεος (mercy) ἔσωσεν (He saved) ἡμᾶς (us) διὰ (through) λουτροῦ (the washing) παλινγενεσίας (of regeneration) καὶ (and) ἀνακαινώσεως (a renewing) Πνεύματος (of the Spirit) Ἁγίου (Holy), 6 οὗ (whom) ἐξέχεεν (He poured out) ἐφ’ (on) ἡμᾶς (us) πλουσίως (richly) διὰ (through) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ) τοῦ (the) Σωτῆρος (Savior) ἡμῶν (of us), 7 ἵνα (so that) δικαιωθέντες (having been justified) τῇ (-) ἐκείνου (by His) χάριτι (grace) κληρονόμοι (heirs) γενηθῶμεν (we might become) κατ’ (according to) ἐλπίδα (the hope) ζωῆς (of life) αἰωνίου (eternal). 8 Πιστὸς (Trustworthy is) ὁ (the) λόγος (word), καὶ (and) περὶ (concerning) τούτων (these things) βούλομαί (I want) σε (you) διαβεβαιοῦσθαι (to affirm strongly), ἵνα (so that) φροντίζωσιν (may take thought) καλῶν (good) ἔργων (works) προΐστασθαι (to devote themselves to) οἱ (those) πεπιστευκότες (having believed) Θεῷ (God). ταῦτά (These things) ἐστιν (are) καλὰ (good) καὶ (and) ὠφέλιμα (profitable) τοῖς (-) ἀνθρώποις (to men)·

9 Μωρὰς (Foolish) δὲ (however) ζητήσεις (controversies) καὶ (and) γενεαλογίας (genealogies) καὶ (and) ἔρεις (contentions) καὶ (and) μάχας (quarrels) νομικὰς (about the law) περιΐστασο (avoid)· εἰσὶν (they are) γὰρ (for) ἀνωφελεῖς (unprofitable) καὶ (and) μάταιοι (futile).

10 αἱρετικὸν (A divisive) ἄνθρωπον (man) μετὰ (after) μίαν (one) καὶ (and) δευτέραν (a second) νουθεσίαν (admonition) παραιτοῦ (reject), 11 εἰδὼς (knowing) ὅτι (that) ἐξέστραπται (is warped) ὁ (-) τοιοῦτος (such a man) καὶ (and) ἁμαρτάνει (is sinning), ὢν (being) αὐτοκατάκριτος (self-condemned).

12 Ὅταν (When) πέμψω (I shall send) Ἀρτεμᾶν (Artemas) πρὸς (to) σὲ (you) ἢ (or) Τυχικόν (Tychicus), σπούδασον (be diligent) ἐλθεῖν (to come) πρός (to) με (me) εἰς (at) Νικόπολιν (Nicopolis)· ἐκεῖ (there) γὰρ (for) κέκρικα (I have decided) παραχειμάσαι (to winter). 13 Ζηνᾶν (Zenas) τὸν (the) νομικὸν (lawyer) καὶ (and) Ἀπολλῶν (Apollos) σπουδαίως (diligently) πρόπεμψον (send forth), ἵνα (so that) μηδὲν (nothing) αὐτοῖς (to them) λείπῃ (may be lacking). 14 μανθανέτωσαν (Let learn) δὲ (now) καὶ (also) οἱ (-) ἡμέτεροι (our people) καλῶν (good) ἔργων (works) προΐστασθαι (to devote themselves to) εἰς (for) τὰς (-) ἀναγκαίας (necessary) χρείας (needs), ἵνα (so that) μὴ (not) ὦσιν (they may be) ἄκαρποι (unfruitful).

15 Ἀσπάζονταί (Greet) σε (you) οἱ (those) μετ’ (with) ἐμοῦ (me) πάντες (all).

Ἄσπασαι (Greet) τοὺς (those) φιλοῦντας (loving) ἡμᾶς (us) ἐν (in) πίστει (the faith).
