Give Thanks to Yahweh, for He Is Good Give thanks to YHWH for He is good, for His loving devotion is forever! 2Who can describe the mighty acts of YHWH? 3Blessed are those guarding justice, doing righteousness at every time. 4Remember me, O YHWH, in favor to Your people; attend to me with Your salvation, 5to look on the prosperity of Your chosen ones, and to be glad in the gladness of Your nation, and to glory with Your inheritance. 6We have sinned, with our fathers; we have been perverse; 7Our fathers in Egypt did not consider Your wonders; they did not remember the abundance of Your kindness; and they rebelled by the sea— at the Sea of Reeds.† 8And He saved them for the sake of His name, 9And He rebuked the Sea of Reeds, and it dried up, and He made them walk through the depths as through a desert. 10And He saved them from the hand of the one hating, and He redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. 11For the waters covered their enemies; 12And they had faith in His words; 13They were quick to forget His works; they have not wait for His counsel; 14and they craved with desire in the wilderness, and they tested God in the desert. 15And He gave to them their request, and He sent leanness upon their soul. 16And they were jealous of Moses in the camp, of Aaron, the holy one of YHWH. 17The earth opened up and swallowed Dathan, and it covered over the company of Abiram. 18And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame consumed the wicked. and they bowed down to a molten image. 20And they exchanged their Glory† for the image of an ox eating grass. 21They forgot God their Savior, the One having done great things in Egypt, 22wonders in the land of Ham, fearful things by the Sea of Reeds. 23And he said he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen one stood in the breach before His face, to turn away His fury from destroying them. 24Then they despised the land of the desire; they were not faithful to His word, 25and they grumbled in their tents; they did not listen to the voice of YHWH. 26And He lifted up His hand against them to make them fall in the desert, 27and to make their seed fall† among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands. 28They even joined themselves to Baal-Peor, and they ate sacrifices to the dead. 29And they provoked Him to anger with their deeds, and a plague broke out among them. 30And Phinehas stood up and intervened, and the plague was restrained. 31And it was reckoned to him as righteousness, to generation and generation, even to forever. 32And they caused wrath at the waters of Meribah,† and it was evil to Moses on account of them. 33For they rebelled against his spirit,† and he spoke rashly with his lips. 34They did not destroy the peoples whom YHWH had given to them the order. 35And they mingled with the nations, 36And they served their idols, and they were to them as a snare. 37And they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons; 38and they shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was polluted with the blood. 39And they were defiled by their deeds and prostituted themselves by their practices. 40And the anger of YHWH was kindled against His people, and He came to abhor His inheritance. 41And He gave them into the hand of the nations, and those hating them ruled over them. 42And their enemies oppressed them, and they were humbled under their hand. 43Many times He delivered them, and they were rebellious in their counsel, and were brought low in their iniquity. 44And He looked on the distress to them 45And He remembered unto them His covenant, and He relented by the abundance of His loving devotion. 46And He appointed them for mercies before the face of all their captors. 47Save us, O YHWH our God, and gather us from the nations, to give thanks to the name of Your holiness, 48Blessed be YHWH the God of Israel from forever and even to forever. And let all the people say, “Amen!” Praise YAH!
