You Are My Refuge and My Fortress 1The one sitting in the secret place of the Most High, in the shade of Shaddai† he will abide. 2I will say of YHWH: “My refuge and my stronghold, 3Surely He will snatch you from the snare of the trapper, 4With His pinions He will give cover for you, and under His wings you will find refuge; a shield and buckler is His faithfulness. 5You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, or of the arrow that flies by day, 6from the plague that walks in the darkness, or from the pestilence that destroys at noon. 7A thousand may fall at your side, and a multitude at your right hand— it shall not draw near to you. 8But with your eyes you shall look, and you shall see the reward of the wicked. 9Because You, O YHWH are my refuge; the Most High you have made your dwelling place. 10Evil shall not meet with you, and plague shall not come near, by your tent. 11For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. 12Upon the hands they shall lift you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.† 13Upon the lion and cobra you will tread; you will trample the young lion and the serpent. 14“Because in Me he has delighted, so will I rescue him; I will set him up high because he has known My Name. 15He will call on Me and I will answer him; I am with him in distress; I will deliver him and honor him. 16With length of days I will satisfy him, and cause him to look on My salvation.” Footnotes: 1 Shaddai means the Almighty 12 Cited in Matthew 4:6 and Luke 4:10–11 Berean Literal Bible This is the first draft of the Berean Literal Bible.
