Good News Translation
The commander said, "Don't tell anyone that you have reported this to me." And he sent the young man away.

New Revised Standard Version
So the tribune dismissed the young man, ordering him, “Tell no one that you have informed me of this.”

The commander sent the young man away after saying to him, "Don't let anyone know you told me this."
