1A gradual canticle. They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Sion: he shall not be moved for ever that dwelleth2In Jerusalem. Mountains are round about it: so the Lord is round about his people from henceforth now and for ever.…
For the king hopeth in the Lord: and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
God is in the midst thereof, it shall not be moved: God will help it in the morning early.
He abideth for ever in the sight of God: his mercy and truth who shall search?
The mouth of the just shall bring forth wisdom: the tongue of the perverse shall perish.
One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth standeth for ever.
Look upon Sion the city of our solemnity: thy eyes shall see Jerusalem, a rich habitation, a tabernacle that cannot be removed: neither shall the nails thereof be taken away for ever, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.
Thou shalt make a way that the sword may come to Rabbath of the children of Ammon, and to Juda unto Jerusalem the strong city.
