English Standard VersionBerean Study Bible
“Moreover, you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen and blue and purple and scarlet yarns; you shall make them with cherubim skillfully worked into them.1“You are to construct the tabernacle itself with ten curtains of finely spun linen, each with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and cherubim skillfully worked into them.
The length of each curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits, and the breadth of each curtain four cubits; all the curtains shall be the same size.2Each curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide—all curtains the same size.
Five curtains shall be coupled to one another, and the other five curtains shall be coupled to one another.3Five of the curtains are to be joined together, and the other five joined as well.
And you shall make loops of blue on the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set. Likewise you shall make loops on the edge of the outermost curtain in the second set.4Make loops of blue material on the edge of the end curtain in the first set, and do the same for the end curtain in the second set.
Fifty loops you shall make on the one curtain, and fifty loops you shall make on the edge of the curtain that is in the second set; the loops shall be opposite one another.5Make fifty loops on one curtain and fifty loops on the end curtain of the second set, so that the loops line up opposite one another.
And you shall make fifty clasps of gold, and couple the curtains one to the other with the clasps, so that the tabernacle may be a single whole.6Make fifty gold clasps as well, and join the curtains together with the clasps, so that the tabernacle will be a unit.
“You shall also make curtains of goats’ hair for a tent over the tabernacle; eleven curtains shall you make.7You are to make curtains of goat hair for the tent over the tabernacle—eleven curtains in all.
The length of each curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the breadth of each curtain four cubits. The eleven curtains shall be the same size.8Each of the eleven curtains is to be the same size—thirty cubits long and four cubits wide.
You shall couple five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves, and the sixth curtain you shall double over at the front of the tent.9Join five of the curtains into one set and the other six into another. Then fold the sixth curtain over double at the front of the tent.
You shall make fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in one set, and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in the second set.10Make fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in the first set, and fifty loops along the edge of the corresponding curtain in the second set.
“You shall make fifty clasps of bronze, and put the clasps into the loops, and couple the tent together that it may be a single whole.11Make fifty bronze clasps and put them through the loops to join the tent together as a unit.
And the part that remains of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remains, shall hang over the back of the tabernacle.12As for the overlap that remains of the tent curtains, the half curtain that is left over shall hang down over the back of the tabernacle.
And the extra that remains in the length of the curtains, the cubit on the one side, and the cubit on the other side, shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle, on this side and that side, to cover it.13And the tent curtains will be a cubit longer on either side, and the excess will hang over the sides of the tabernacle to cover it.
And you shall make for the tent a covering of tanned rams’ skins and a covering of goatskins on top.14Also make a covering for the tent out of ram skins dyed red, and over that a covering of fine leather.
“You shall make upright frames for the tabernacle of acacia wood.15You are to construct upright frames of acacia wood for the tabernacle.
Ten cubits shall be the length of a frame, and a cubit and a half the breadth of each frame.16Each frame is to be ten cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.
There shall be two tenons in each frame, for fitting together. So shall you do for all the frames of the tabernacle.17Two tenons must be connected to each other for each frame. Make all the frames of the tabernacle in this way.
You shall make the frames for the tabernacle: twenty frames for the south side;18Construct twenty frames for the south side of the tabernacle,
and forty bases of silver you shall make under the twenty frames, two bases under one frame for its two tenons, and two bases under the next frame for its two tenons;19with forty silver bases under the twenty frames—two bases for each frame, one under each tenon.
and for the second side of the tabernacle, on the north side twenty frames,20For the second side of the tabernacle, the north side, make twenty frames
and their forty bases of silver, two bases under one frame, and two bases under the next frame.21and forty silver bases—two bases under each frame.
And for the rear of the tabernacle westward you shall make six frames.22Make six frames for the rear of the tabernacle, the west side,
And you shall make two frames for corners of the tabernacle in the rear;23and two frames for the two back corners of the tabernacle,
they shall be separate beneath, but joined at the top, at the first ring. Thus shall it be with both of them; they shall form the two corners.24coupled together from bottom to top and fitted into a single ring. These will serve as the two corners.
And there shall be eight frames, with their bases of silver, sixteen bases; two bases under one frame, and two bases under another frame.25So there are to be eight frames and sixteen silver bases—two under each frame.
“You shall make bars of acacia wood, five for the frames of the one side of the tabernacle,26You are also to make five crossbars of acacia wood for the frames on one side of the tabernacle,
and five bars for the frames of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the frames of the side of the tabernacle at the rear westward.27five for those on the other side, and five for those on the rear side of the tabernacle, to the west.
The middle bar, halfway up the frames, shall run from end to end.28The central crossbar in the middle of the frames shall extend from one end to the other.
You shall overlay the frames with gold and shall make their rings of gold for holders for the bars, and you shall overlay the bars with gold.29Overlay the frames with gold and make gold rings to hold the crossbars. Also overlay the crossbars with gold.
Then you shall erect the tabernacle according to the plan for it that you were shown on the mountain.30So you are to set up the tabernacle according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.
“And you shall make a veil of blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen. It shall be made with cherubim skillfully worked into it.31Make a veil of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen, with cherubim skillfully worked into it.
And you shall hang it on four pillars of acacia overlaid with gold, with hooks of gold, on four bases of silver.32Hang it with gold hooks on four posts of acacia wood, overlaid with gold and standing on four silver bases.
And you shall hang the veil from the clasps, and bring the ark of the testimony in there within the veil. And the veil shall separate for you the Holy Place from the Most Holy.33And hang the veil from the clasps and place the ark of the Testimony behind the veil. So the veil will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.
You shall put the mercy seat on the ark of the testimony in the Most Holy Place.34Put the mercy seat on the ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy Place.
And you shall set the table outside the veil, and the lampstand on the south side of the tabernacle opposite the table, and you shall put the table on the north side.35And place the table outside the veil on the north side of the tabernacle, and put the lampstand opposite the table, on the south side.
“You shall make a screen for the entrance of the tent, of blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, embroidered with needlework.36For the entrance to the tent, you are to make a curtain embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen.
And you shall make for the screen five pillars of acacia, and overlay them with gold. Their hooks shall be of gold, and you shall cast five bases of bronze for them.37Make five posts of acacia wood for the curtain, overlay them with gold hooks, and cast five bronze bases for them.
