They brought the ark of God and placed it inside the tent David had pitched for it. Then they offered burnt offerings and fellowship offerings in God's presence. 1And they brought in the ark of God and placed it inside the tent which David had pitched for it, and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God.
When David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the fellowship offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Yahweh. 2When David had finished offering the burnt offering and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD.
Then he distributed to each and every Israelite, both men and women, a loaf of bread, a date cake, and a raisin cake. 3He distributed to everyone of Israel, both man and woman, to everyone a loaf of bread and a portion of meat and a raisin cake.
David appointed some of the Levites to be ministers before the ark of the LORD, to celebrate the LORD God of Israel, and to give thanks and praise to Him.4He appointed some of the Levites as ministers before the ark of the LORD, even to celebrate and to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel:
Asaph was the chief and Zechariah was second to him. Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel played the harps and lyres, while Asaph sounded the cymbals5Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, then Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom and Jeiel, with musical instruments, harps, lyres; also Asaph played loud-sounding cymbals,
and the priests Benaiah and Jahaziel blew the trumpets regularly before the ark of the covenant of God. 6and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests blew trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.
On that day David decreed for the first time that thanks be given to the LORD by Asaph and his relatives: 7Then on that day David first assigned Asaph and his relatives to give thanks to the LORD.
Give thanks to Yahweh; call on His name; proclaim His deeds among the peoples. 8Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples.
Sing to Him; sing praise to Him; tell about all His wonderful works! 9Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; Speak of all His wonders.
Honor His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek Yahweh rejoice. 10Glory in His holy name; Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad.
Search for the LORD and for His strength; seek His face always. 11Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face continually.
Remember the wonderful works He has done, His wonders, and the judgments He has pronounced, 12Remember His wonderful deeds which He has done, His marvels and the judgments from His mouth,
you offspring of Israel His servant, Jacob's descendants--His chosen ones. 13O seed of Israel His servant, Sons of Jacob, His chosen ones!
He is the LORD our God; His judgments govern the whole earth. 14He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth.
Remember His covenant forever-- the promise He ordained for a thousand generations, 15Remember His covenant forever, The word which He commanded to a thousand generations,
the covenant He made with Abraham, swore to Isaac, 16The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac.
and confirmed to Jacob as a decree, and to Israel as an everlasting covenant:" 17He also confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant,
I will give the land of Canaan to you as your inherited portion." 18Saying, "To you I will give the land of Canaan, As the portion of your inheritance."
When they were few in number, very few indeed, and temporary residents in Canaan 19When they were only a few in number, Very few, and strangers in it,
wandering from nation to nation and from one kingdom to another, 20And they wandered about from nation to nation, And from one kingdom to another people,
He allowed no one to oppress them; He rebuked kings on their behalf:" 21He permitted no man to oppress them, And He reproved kings for their sakes, saying,
Do not touch My anointed ones or harm My prophets." 22"Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm."
Sing to the LORD, all the earth. Proclaim His salvation from day to day. 23Sing to the LORD, all the earth; Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day.
Declare His glory among the nations, His wonderful works among all peoples. 24Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.
For the LORD is great and highly praised; He is feared above all gods. 25For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; He also is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but the LORD made the heavens. 26For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the LORD made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before Him; strength and joy are in His place. 27Splendor and majesty are before Him, Strength and joy are in His place.
Ascribe to the LORD, families of the peoples, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. 28Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, Ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
Ascribe to Yahweh the glory of His name; bring an offering and come before Him. Worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness; 29Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come before Him; Worship the LORD in holy array.
tremble before Him, all the earth. The world is firmly established; it cannot be shaken. 30Tremble before Him, all the earth; Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.
Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations, "The LORD is King!" 31Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; And let them say among the nations, "The LORD reigns."
Let the sea and everything in it resound; let the fields and all that is in them exult. 32Let the sea roar, and all it contains; Let the field exult, and all that is in it.
Then the trees of the forest will shout for joy before the LORD, for He is coming to judge the earth. 33Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before the LORD; For He is coming to judge the earth.
Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever. 34O give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting.
And say: "Save us, God of our salvation; gather us and rescue us from the nations so that we may give thanks to Your holy name and rejoice in Your praise. 35Then say, "Save us, O God of our salvation, And gather us and deliver us from the nations, To give thanks to Your holy name, And glory in Your praise."
May Yahweh, the God of Israel, be praised from everlasting to everlasting." Then all the people said, "Amen" and "Praise the LORD." 36Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, From everlasting even to everlasting. Then all the people said, "Amen," and praised the LORD.
So David left Asaph and his relatives there before the ark of the LORD's covenant to minister regularly before the ark according to the daily requirements.37So he left Asaph and his relatives there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD to minister before the ark continually, as every day's work required;

With them were Heman, Jeduthun, and the rest who were chosen and designated by name to give thanks to the LORD--for His faithful love endures forever.41With them were Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest who were chosen, who were designated by name, to give thanks to the LORD, because His lovingkindness is everlasting.
