Let brotherly love continue. 1Let brotherly love continue.
Stop neglecting to show hospitality to strangers, for by showing hospitality some have had angels as their guests without being aware of it. 2Don't neglect to show hospitality, for by doing this some have welcomed angels as guests without knowing it.
Continue to remember those in prison as if you were in prison with them, as well as those who are mistreated, since they also are only mortal. 3Remember the prisoners, as though you were in prison with them, and the mistreated, as though you yourselves were suffering bodily.
Let marriage be kept honorable in every way, and the marriage bed undefiled. For God will judge those who commit sexual sins, especially those who commit adultery.4Marriage must be respected by all, and the marriage bed kept undefiled, because God will judge immoral people and adulterers.
Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, for God has said, "I will never leave you or abandon you."5Your life should be free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for He Himself has said, I will never leave you or forsake you.
Hence we can confidently say, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?" 6Therefore, we may boldly say: The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
Remember your leaders, those who have spoken God's word to you. Think about the impact of their lives, and imitate their faith. 7Remember your leaders who have spoken God's word to you. As you carefully observe the outcome of their lives, imitate their faith.
Jesus, the Messiah, is the same yesterday and today—and forever!8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Stop being carried away by all kinds of unusual teachings, for it is good that the heart be strengthened by grace, not by food laws that have never helped those who follow them.9Don't be led astray by various kinds of strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be established by grace and not by foods, since those involved in them have not benefited.
We have an altar, and those who serve in the tent have no right to eat at it. 10We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle do not have a right to eat.
For the bodies of animals, whose blood is taken into the sanctuary by the high priest as an offering for sin, are burned outside the camp. 11For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the most holy place by the high priest as a sin offering are burned outside the camp.
That is why Jesus, in order to sanctify the people by his own blood, also suffered outside the city gate. 12Therefore Jesus also suffered outside the gate, so that He might sanctify the people by His own blood.
Therefore go to him outside the camp and endure the insults he endured. 13Let us then go to Him outside the camp, bearing His disgrace.
For here we have no permanent city but are looking for the one that is coming. 14For we do not have an enduring city here; instead, we seek the one to come.
Therefore, through him let us always bring God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of our lips that confess his name. 15Therefore, through Him let us continually offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of our lips that confess His name.
Do not neglect to do good and to be generous, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.16Don't neglect to do what is good and to share, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.
Continue to follow and be submissive to your leaders, since they are watching over your souls as those who will have to give a word of explanation. By doing this, you will be letting them carry out their duties joyfully, and not with grief, for that would be harmful for you.17Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account, so that they can do this with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.
Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way. 18Pray for us; for we are convinced that we have a clear conscience, wanting to conduct ourselves honorably in everything.
I especially ask you to do this so that I may be brought back to you sooner.19And I especially urge you to pray that I may be restored to you very soon.
Now may the God of peace, who by the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the Great Shepherd of the sheep, 20Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus--the great Shepherd of the sheep--with the blood of the everlasting covenant,
equip you with everything good to do his will, accomplishing in us what pleases him through Jesus, the Messiah. To him be glory forever and ever! Amen.21equip you with all that is good to do His will, working in us what is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ. Glory belongs to Him forever and ever. Amen.
I urge you, brothers, to listen patiently to my encouraging message, for I have written you a short letter.22Brothers, I urge you to receive this message of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.
You should know that our brother Timothy has been set free. If he comes soon, he will be with me when I see you.23Be aware that our brother Timothy has been released. If he comes soon enough, he will be with me when I see you.
Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those who are from Italy greet you.24Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those who are from Italy greet you.
May grace be with all of you! 25Grace be with all of you.
