ISV Parallel HCSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionHolman Christian Standard Bible
My heart is overflowing with good news; I speak what I have composed to the king; my tongue is like the pen of an articulate scribe.1For the choir director: according to "The Lilies." A Maskil of the sons of Korah. A love song. My heart is moved by a noble theme as I recite my verses to the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.
You are the most handsome of Adam's descendants; grace has anointed your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever.2You are the most handsome of men; grace flows from your lips. Therefore God has blessed you forever.
Strap your sword to your side, mighty warrior, along with your honor and majesty.3Mighty warrior, strap your sword at your side. In your majesty and splendor--
In your majesty ride forth for the cause of truth, humility, and righteousness; and your strong right hand will teach you awesome things.4in your splendor ride triumphantly in the cause of truth, humility, and justice. May your right hand show your awe-inspiring acts.
Your arrows are sharpened to penetrate the hearts of the king's enemies. People will fall under you.5Your arrows pierce the hearts of the king's enemies; the peoples fall under you.
Your throne, God, exists forever and ever, and the scepter of your kingdom is a righteous scepter.6Your throne, God, is forever and ever; the scepter of Your kingdom is a scepter of justice.
You love justice and hate wickedness. That is why God, even your God, has anointed you rather than your companions with the oil of gladness.7You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of joy more than your companions.
All your clothes are scented with myrrh, aloes, and cassia. From ivory palaces stringed instruments have made you glad.8Myrrh, aloes, and cassia perfume all your garments; from ivory palaces harps bring you joy.
The king's daughters are among your honorable women; the queen, dressed in gold from Ophir, has taken her place at your right hand."9Kings' daughters are among your honored women; the queen, adorned with gold from Ophir, stands at your right hand.
Listen, daughter! Consider and pay attention. Forget your people and your father's house,10Listen, daughter, pay attention and consider: forget your people and your father's house,
and the king will greatly desire your beauty. Because he is your lord, you should bow in respect before him.11and the king will desire your beauty. Bow down to him, for he is your lord.
The daughter of Tyre will come with a wedding gift; wealthy people will entreat your favor.12The daughter of Tyre, the wealthy people, will seek your favor with gifts.
In her chamber, the king's daughter is glorious; her clothing is embroidered with gold thread.13In her chamber, the royal daughter is all glorious, her clothing embroidered with gold.
In embroidered garments she is presented to the king. Her virgin companions who follow her train will be presented to you.14In colorful garments she is led to the king; after her, the virgins, her companions, are brought to you.
Filled with joy and gladness, they are presented when they enter the king's palace.15They are led in with gladness and rejoicing; they enter the king's palace.
Your sons will take the place of your ancestors, and you will set them up as princes in all the earth.16Your sons will succeed your ancestors; you will make them princes throughout the land.
From generation to generation, I will cause your name to be remembered. Therefore people will thank you forever and ever.17I will cause your name to be remembered for all generations; therefore the peoples will praise you forever and ever.
