Psalm 45
ISV Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionKing James Bible
My heart is overflowing with good news; I speak what I have composed to the king; my tongue is like the pen of an articulate scribe.1To the chief Musician upon Shoshannim, for the sons of Korah, Maschil, A Song of loves. My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
You are the most handsome of Adam's descendants; grace has anointed your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever.2Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.
Strap your sword to your side, mighty warrior, along with your honor and majesty.3Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.
In your majesty ride forth for the cause of truth, humility, and righteousness; and your strong right hand will teach you awesome things.4And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.
Your arrows are sharpened to penetrate the hearts of the king's enemies. People will fall under you.5Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.
Your throne, God, exists forever and ever, and the scepter of your kingdom is a righteous scepter.6Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
You love justice and hate wickedness. That is why God, even your God, has anointed you rather than your companions with the oil of gladness.7Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
All your clothes are scented with myrrh, aloes, and cassia. From ivory palaces stringed instruments have made you glad.8All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.
The king's daughters are among your honorable women; the queen, dressed in gold from Ophir, has taken her place at your right hand."9Kings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.
Listen, daughter! Consider and pay attention. Forget your people and your father's house,10Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;
and the king will greatly desire your beauty. Because he is your lord, you should bow in respect before him.11So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.
The daughter of Tyre will come with a wedding gift; wealthy people will entreat your favor.12And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.
In her chamber, the king's daughter is glorious; her clothing is embroidered with gold thread.13The king's daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.
In embroidered garments she is presented to the king. Her virgin companions who follow her train will be presented to you.14She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.
Filled with joy and gladness, they are presented when they enter the king's palace.15With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace.
Your sons will take the place of your ancestors, and you will set them up as princes in all the earth.16Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.
From generation to generation, I will cause your name to be remembered. Therefore people will thank you forever and ever.17I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.
