1After this, I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth. They were holding back the four winds of the earth so that no wind could blow on the land, on the sea, or on any tree.
2I saw another angel coming from the east having the seal of the living God. He cried out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been permitted to harm the land and sea, 2καὶ εἶδον ἄλλον ἄγγελον ἀναβαίνοντα ἀπὸ ἀνατολῆς ἡλίου ἔχοντα σφραγῖδα Θεοῦ ζῶντος καὶ ἔκραξεν φωνῇ μεγάλῃ τοῖς τέσσαρσιν ἀγγέλοις οἷς ἐδόθη αὐτοῖς ἀδικῆσαι τὴν γῆν καὶ τὴν θάλασσαν
3"Don't harm the land, the sea, or the trees until we have marked the servants of our God with a seal on their foreheads."3λέγων Μὴ ἀδικήσητε τὴν γῆν μήτε τὴν θάλασσαν μήτε τὰ δένδρα ἄχρι σφραγίσωμεν τοὺς δούλους τοῦ Θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἐπὶ τῶν μετώπων αὐτῶν
4I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000. Those who were sealed were from every tribe of Israel: 4Καὶ ἤκουσα τὸν ἀριθμὸν τῶν ἐσφραγισμένων ἑκατὸν τεσσεράκοντα τέσσαρες χιλιάδες ἐσφραγισμένοι ἐκ πάσης φυλῆς υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ
512,000 from the tribe of Judah were sealed, 12,000 from the tribe of Reuben, 12,000 from the tribe of Gad, 5Ἐκ φυλῆς Ἰούδα δώδεκα χιλιάδες ἐσφραγισμένοι ἐκ φυλῆς Ῥουβὴν δώδεκα χιλιάδες ἐκ φυλῆς Γὰδ δώδεκα χιλιάδες
612,000 from the tribe of Asher, 12,000 from the tribe of Naphtali, 12,000 from the tribe of Manasseh, 6Ἐκ φυλῆς Ἀσὴρ δώδεκα χιλιάδες ἐκ φυλῆς Νεφθαλὶμ δώδεκα χιλιάδες ἐκ φυλῆς Μανασσῆ δώδεκα χιλιάδες
712,000 from the tribe of Simeon, 12,000 from the tribe of Levi, 12,000 from the tribe of Issachar, 7Ἐκ φυλῆς Συμεὼν δώδεκα χιλιάδες ἐκ φυλῆς Λευὶ δώδεκα χιλιάδες ἐκ φυλῆς Ἰσσαχὰρ δώδεκα χιλιάδες
812,000 from the tribe of Zebulun, 12,000 from the tribe of Joseph, and 12,000 from the tribe of Benjamin were sealed.8Ἐκ φυλῆς Ζαβουλὼν δώδεκα χιλιάδες ἐκ φυλῆς Ἰωσὴφ δώδεκα χιλιάδες ἐκ φυλῆς Βενιαμὶν δώδεκα χιλιάδες ἐσφραγισμένοι
9After these things, I looked, and there was a crowd so large that no one was able to count it! They were from every nation, tribe, people, and language. They were standing in front of the throne and the lamb and were wearing white robes, with palm branches in their hands.
10They cried out in a loud voice, "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the lamb!"10καὶ κράζουσιν φωνῇ μεγάλῃ λέγοντες σωτηρία τῷ Θεῷ ἡμῶν τῷ καθημένῳ ἐπὶ τῷ θρόνῳ καὶ τῷ Ἀρνίῳ
11All the angels stood around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell on their faces in front of the throne and worshipped God, 11Καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄγγελοι εἱστήκεισαν κύκλῳ τοῦ θρόνου καὶ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων καὶ τῶν τεσσάρων ζῴων καὶ ἔπεσαν ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου ἐπὶ τὰ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν καὶ προσεκύνησαν τῷ Θεῷ
12saying, "Amen! Praise, glory, wisdom, thanks, honor, power, and strength be to our God forever and ever! Amen!"12λέγοντες Ἀμήν εὐλογία καὶ δόξα καὶ σοφία καὶ εὐχαριστία καὶ τιμὴ καὶ δύναμις καὶ ἰσχὺς τῷ Θεῷ ἡμῶν εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων ἀμήν
13"Who are these people wearing white robes," one of the elders asked me, "and where did they come from?"13Καὶ ἀπεκρίθη εἷς ἐκ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων λέγων μοι Οὗτοι οἱ περιβεβλημένοι τὰς στολὰς τὰς λευκὰς τίνες εἰσὶν καὶ πόθεν ἦλθον
14I told him, "Sir, you know." Then he told me, "These are the people who are coming out of the terrible suffering. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the lamb. 14Καὶ εἴρηκα αὐτῷ Κύριέ μου σὺ οἶδας Καὶ εἶπέν μοι Οὗτοί εἰσιν οἱ ἐρχόμενοι ἐκ τῆς θλίψεως τῆς μεγάλης καὶ ἔπλυναν τὰς στολὰς αὐτῶν καὶ ἐλεύκαναν αὐτὰς ἐν τῷ αἵματι τοῦ Ἀρνίου
15That is why: "They are in front of the throne of God and worship him night and day in his Temple. The one who sits on the throne will shelter them.15διὰ τοῦτό Εἰσιν ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου τοῦ Θεοῦ καὶ λατρεύουσιν αὐτῷ ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτὸς ἐν τῷ ναῷ αὐτοῦ καὶ καθήμενος ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου σκηνώσει ἐπ’ αὐτούς
16They will never be hungry or thirsty again. Neither the sun nor its heat will ever beat down on them,16οὐ πεινάσουσιν ἔτι οὐδὲ διψήσουσιν ἔτι οὐδὲ μὴ πέσῃ ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς ἥλιος οὐδὲ πᾶν καῦμα
17because the lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd. He will lead them to springs filled with the water of life, and God will wipe every tear from their eyes." 17ὅτι τὸ Ἀρνίον τὸ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ θρόνου ποιμανεῖ αὐτούς καὶ ὁδηγήσει αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ ζωῆς πηγὰς ὑδάτων καὶ ἐξαλείψει Θεὸς πᾶν δάκρυον ἐκ τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτῶν
