Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them.1“You are to construct the tabernacle itself with ten curtains of finely spun linen, each with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and cherubim skillfully worked into them.
The length of one curtain shall be eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and every one of the curtains shall have one measure.2Each curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide—all curtains the same size.
The five curtains shall be coupled together one to another; and other five curtains shall be coupled one to another.3Five of the curtains are to be joined together, and the other five joined as well.
And thou shalt make loops of blue upon the edge of the one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling; and likewise shalt thou make in the uttermost edge of another curtain, in the coupling of the second.4Make loops of blue material on the edge of the end curtain in the first set, and do the same for the end curtain in the second set.
Fifty loops shalt thou make in the one curtain, and fifty loops shalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that is in the coupling of the second; that the loops may take hold one of another.5Make fifty loops on one curtain and fifty loops on the end curtain of the second set, so that the loops line up opposite one another.
And thou shalt make fifty taches of gold, and couple the curtains together with the taches: and it shall be one tabernacle.6Make fifty gold clasps as well, and join the curtains together with the clasps, so that the tabernacle will be a unit.
And thou shalt make curtains of goats' hair to be a covering upon the tabernacle: eleven curtains shalt thou make.7You are to make curtains of goat hair for the tent over the tabernacle—eleven curtains in all.
The length of one curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and the eleven curtains shall be all of one measure.8Each of the eleven curtains is to be the same size—thirty cubits long and four cubits wide.
And thou shalt couple five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves, and shalt double the sixth curtain in the forefront of the tabernacle.9Join five of the curtains into one set and the other six into another. Then fold the sixth curtain over double at the front of the tent.
And thou shalt make fifty loops on the edge of the one curtain that is outmost in the coupling, and fifty loops in the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second.10Make fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in the first set, and fifty loops along the edge of the corresponding curtain in the second set.
And thou shalt make fifty taches of brass, and put the taches into the loops, and couple the tent together, that it may be one.11Make fifty bronze clasps and put them through the loops to join the tent together as a unit.
And the remnant that remaineth of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remaineth, shall hang over the backside of the tabernacle.12As for the overlap that remains of the tent curtains, the half curtain that is left over shall hang down over the back of the tabernacle.
And a cubit on the one side, and a cubit on the other side of that which remaineth in the length of the curtains of the tent, it shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.13And the tent curtains will be a cubit longer on either side, and the excess will hang over the sides of the tabernacle to cover it.
And thou shalt make a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, and a covering above of badgers' skins.14Also make a covering for the tent out of ram skins dyed red, and over that a covering of fine leather.
And thou shalt make boards for the tabernacle of shittim wood standing up.15You are to construct upright frames of acacia wood for the tabernacle.
Ten cubits shall be the length of a board, and a cubit and a half shall be the breadth of one board.16Each frame is to be ten cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.
Two tenons shall there be in one board, set in order one against another: thus shalt thou make for all the boards of the tabernacle.17Two tenons must be connected to each other for each frame. Make all the frames of the tabernacle in this way.
And thou shalt make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards on the south side southward.18Construct twenty frames for the south side of the tabernacle,
And thou shalt make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for his two tenons, and two sockets under another board for his two tenons.19with forty silver bases under the twenty frames—two bases for each frame, one under each tenon.
And for the second side of the tabernacle on the north side there shall be twenty boards:20For the second side of the tabernacle, the north side, make twenty frames
And their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.21and forty silver bases—two bases under each frame.
And for the sides of the tabernacle westward thou shalt make six boards.22Make six frames for the rear of the tabernacle, the west side,
And two boards shalt thou make for the corners of the tabernacle in the two sides.23and two frames for the two back corners of the tabernacle,
And they shall be coupled together beneath, and they shall be coupled together above the head of it unto one ring: thus shall it be for them both; they shall be for the two corners.24coupled together from bottom to top and fitted into a single ring. These will serve as the two corners.
And they shall be eight boards, and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.25So there are to be eight frames and sixteen silver bases—two under each frame.
And thou shalt make bars of shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,26You are also to make five crossbars of acacia wood for the frames on one side of the tabernacle,
And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, for the two sides westward.27five for those on the other side, and five for those on the rear side of the tabernacle, to the west.
And the middle bar in the midst of the boards shall reach from end to end.28The central crossbar in the middle of the frames shall extend from one end to the other.
And thou shalt overlay the boards with gold, and make their rings of gold for places for the bars: and thou shalt overlay the bars with gold.29Overlay the frames with gold and make gold rings to hold the crossbars. Also overlay the crossbars with gold.
And thou shalt rear up the tabernacle according to the fashion thereof which was shewed thee in the mount.30So you are to set up the tabernacle according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.
And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:31Make a veil of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen, with cherubim skillfully worked into it.
And thou shalt hang it upon four pillars of shittim wood overlaid with gold: their hooks shall be of gold, upon the four sockets of silver.32Hang it with gold hooks on four posts of acacia wood, overlaid with gold and standing on four silver bases.
And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy.33And hang the veil from the clasps and place the ark of the Testimony behind the veil. So the veil will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.
And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.34Put the mercy seat on the ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy Place.
And thou shalt set the table without the vail, and the candlestick over against the table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south: and thou shalt put the table on the north side.35And place the table outside the veil on the north side of the tabernacle, and put the lampstand opposite the table, on the south side.
And thou shalt make an hanging for the door of the tent, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework.36For the entrance to the tent, you are to make a curtain embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen.
And thou shalt make for the hanging five pillars of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold, and their hooks shall be of gold: and thou shalt cast five sockets of brass for them.37Make five posts of acacia wood for the curtain, overlay them with gold hooks, and cast five bronze bases for them.
