KJV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew American Standard Bible 1995
A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.1A Prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.2Before the mountains were born Or You gave birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.
Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.3You turn man back into dust And say, "Return, O children of men."
For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.4For a thousand years in Your sight Are like yesterday when it passes by, Or as a watch in the night.
Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.5You have swept them away like a flood, they fall asleep; In the morning they are like grass which sprouts anew.
In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.6In the morning it flourishes and sprouts anew; Toward evening it fades and withers away.
For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.7For we have been consumed by Your anger And by Your wrath we have been dismayed.
Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.8You have placed our iniquities before You, Our secret sins in the light of Your presence.
For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.9For all our days have declined in Your fury; We have finished our years like a sigh.
The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.10As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, Or if due to strength, eighty years, Yet their pride is but labor and sorrow; For soon it is gone and we fly away.
Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.11Who understands the power of Your anger And Your fury, according to the fear that is due You?
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.12So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.
Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.13Do return, O LORD; how long will it be? And be sorry for Your servants.
O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.14O satisfy us in the morning with Your lovingkindness, That we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.15Make us glad according to the days You have afflicted us, And the years we have seen evil.
Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.16Let Your work appear to Your servants And Your majesty to their children.
And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.17Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; And confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, confirm the work of our hands.
