And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,1The LORD spoke to Moses:
Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually.2"Command the Israelites to bring to you pure oil of beaten olives for the light, to make a lamp burn continually.
Without the vail of the testimony, in the tabernacle of the congregation, shall Aaron order it from the evening unto the morning before the LORD continually: it shall be a statute for ever in your generations.3Outside the veil-canopy of the congregation in the Meeting Tent Aaron must arrange it from evening until morning before the LORD continually. This is a perpetual statute throughout your generations.
He shall order the lamps upon the pure candlestick before the LORD continually.4On the ceremonially pure lampstand he must arrange the lamps before the LORD continually.
And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake.5"You must take choice wheat flour and bake twelve loaves; there must be two tenths of an ephah of flour in each loaf,
And thou shalt set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before the LORD.6and you must set them in two rows, six in a row, on the ceremonially pure table before the LORD.
And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire unto the LORD.7You must put pure frankincense on each row, and it will become a memorial portion for the bread, a gift to the LORD.
Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant.8Each Sabbath day Aaron must arrange it before the LORD continually; this portion is from the Israelites as a perpetual covenant.
And it shall be Aaron's and his sons'; and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it is most holy unto him of the offerings of the LORD made by fire by a perpetual statute.9It will belong to Aaron and his sons, and they must eat it in a holy place because it is most holy to him, a perpetual allotted portion from the gifts of the LORD."
And the son of an Israelitish woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel: and this son of the Israelitish woman and a man of Israel strove together in the camp;10Now an Israelite woman's son whose father was an Egyptian went out among the Israelites, and the Israelite woman's son and an Israelite man had a fight in the camp.
And the Israelitish woman's son blasphemed the name of the LORD, and cursed. And they brought him unto Moses: (and his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan:)11The Israelite woman's son misused the Name and cursed, so they brought him to Moses. (Now his mother's name was Shelomith daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.)
And they put him in ward, that the mind of the LORD might be shewed them.12So they placed him in custody until they were able to make a clear legal decision for themselves based on words from the mouth of the LORD.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,13Then the LORD spoke to Moses:
Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.14"Bring the one who cursed outside the camp, and all who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the whole congregation is to stone him to death.
And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin.15Moreover, you are to tell the Israelites, 'If any man curses his God he will bear responsibility for his sin,
And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the LORD, shall be put to death.16and one who misuses the name of the LORD must surely be put to death. The whole congregation must surely stone him, whether he is a foreigner or a native citizen; when he misuses the Name he must be put to death.
And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death.17"'If a man beats any person to death, he must be put to death.
And he that killeth a beast shall make it good; beast for beast.18One who beats an animal to death must make restitution for it, life for life.
And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him;19If a man inflicts an injury on his fellow citizen, just as he has done it must be done to him--
Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again.20fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth--just as he inflicts an injury on another person that same injury must be inflicted on him.
And he that killeth a beast, he shall restore it: and he that killeth a man, he shall be put to death.21One who beats an animal to death must make restitution for it, but one who beats a person to death must be put to death.
Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God.22There will be one regulation for you, whether a foreigner or a native citizen, for I am the LORD your God.'"
And Moses spake to the children of Israel, that they should bring forth him that had cursed out of the camp, and stone him with stones. And the children of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses.23Then Moses spoke to the Israelites and they brought the one who cursed outside the camp and stoned him with stones. So the Israelites did just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
