Psalm 91
KJV Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNET Bible
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.1As for you, the one who lives in the shelter of the sovereign One, and resides in the protective shadow of the mighty king--
I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.2I say this about the LORD, my shelter and my stronghold, my God in whom I trust--
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.3he will certainly rescue you from the snare of the hunter and from the destructive plague.
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.4He will shelter you with his wings; you will find safety under his wings. His faithfulness is like a shield or a protective wall.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;5You need not fear the terrors of the night, the arrow that flies by day,
Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.6the plague that comes in the darkness, or the disease that comes at noon.
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.7Though a thousand may fall beside you, and a multitude on your right side, it will not reach you.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.8Certainly you will see it with your very own eyes--you will see the wicked paid back.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;9For you have taken refuge in the LORD, my shelter, the sovereign One.
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.10No harm will overtake you; no illness will come near your home.
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.11For he will order his angels to protect you in all you do.
They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.12They will lift you up in their hands, so you will not slip and fall on a stone.
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.13You will subdue a lion and a snake; you will trample underfoot a young lion and a serpent.
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.14The LORD says, "Because he is devoted to me, I will deliver him; I will protect him because he is loyal to me.
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.15When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him when he is in trouble; I will rescue him and bring him honor.
With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.16I will satisfy him with long life, and will let him see my salvation.
