New American Standard Bible 1995Berean Study Bible
"Moreover you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twisted linen and blue and purple and scarlet material; you shall make them with cherubim, the work of a skillful workman.1“You are to construct the tabernacle itself with ten curtains of finely spun linen, each with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and cherubim skillfully worked into them.
"The length of each curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits; all the curtains shall have the same measurements.2Each curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide—all curtains the same size.
"Five curtains shall be joined to one another, and the other five curtains shall be joined to one another.3Five of the curtains are to be joined together, and the other five joined as well.
"You shall make loops of blue on the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set, and likewise you shall make them on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in the second set.4Make loops of blue material on the edge of the end curtain in the first set, and do the same for the end curtain in the second set.
"You shall make fifty loops in the one curtain, and you shall make fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is in the second set; the loops shall be opposite each other.5Make fifty loops on one curtain and fifty loops on the end curtain of the second set, so that the loops line up opposite one another.
"You shall make fifty clasps of gold, and join the curtains to one another with the clasps so that the tabernacle will be a unit.6Make fifty gold clasps as well, and join the curtains together with the clasps, so that the tabernacle will be a unit.
"Then you shall make curtains of goats' hair for a tent over the tabernacle; you shall make eleven curtains in all.7You are to make curtains of goat hair for the tent over the tabernacle—eleven curtains in all.
"The length of each curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits; the eleven curtains shall have the same measurements.8Each of the eleven curtains is to be the same size—thirty cubits long and four cubits wide.
"You shall join five curtains by themselves and the other six curtains by themselves, and you shall double over the sixth curtain at the front of the tent.9Join five of the curtains into one set and the other six into another. Then fold the sixth curtain over double at the front of the tent.
"You shall make fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in the first set, and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in the second set.10Make fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in the first set, and fifty loops along the edge of the corresponding curtain in the second set.
"You shall make fifty clasps of bronze, and you shall put the clasps into the loops and join the tent together so that it will be a unit.11Make fifty bronze clasps and put them through the loops to join the tent together as a unit.
"The overlapping part that is left over in the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that is left over, shall lap over the back of the tabernacle.12As for the overlap that remains of the tent curtains, the half curtain that is left over shall hang down over the back of the tabernacle.
"The cubit on one side and the cubit on the other, of what is left over in the length of the curtains of the tent, shall lap over the sides of the tabernacle on one side and on the other, to cover it.13And the tent curtains will be a cubit longer on either side, and the excess will hang over the sides of the tabernacle to cover it.
"You shall make a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red and a covering of porpoise skins above.14Also make a covering for the tent out of ram skins dyed red, and over that a covering of fine leather.
"Then you shall make the boards for the tabernacle of acacia wood, standing upright.15You are to construct upright frames of acacia wood for the tabernacle.
"Ten cubits shall be the length of each board and one and a half cubits the width of each board.16Each frame is to be ten cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.
"There shall be two tenons for each board, fitted to one another; thus you shall do for all the boards of the tabernacle.17Two tenons must be connected to each other for each frame. Make all the frames of the tabernacle in this way.
"You shall make the boards for the tabernacle: twenty boards for the south side.18Construct twenty frames for the south side of the tabernacle,
"You shall make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards, two sockets under one board for its two tenons and two sockets under another board for its two tenons;19with forty silver bases under the twenty frames—two bases for each frame, one under each tenon.
and for the second side of the tabernacle, on the north side, twenty boards,20For the second side of the tabernacle, the north side, make twenty frames
and their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board and two sockets under another board.21and forty silver bases—two bases under each frame.
"For the rear of the tabernacle, to the west, you shall make six boards.22Make six frames for the rear of the tabernacle, the west side,
"You shall make two boards for the corners of the tabernacle at the rear.23and two frames for the two back corners of the tabernacle,
"They shall be double beneath, and together they shall be complete to its top to the first ring; thus it shall be with both of them: they shall form the two corners.24coupled together from bottom to top and fitted into a single ring. These will serve as the two corners.
"There shall be eight boards with their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; two sockets under one board and two sockets under another board.25So there are to be eight frames and sixteen silver bases—two under each frame.
"Then you shall make bars of acacia wood, five for the boards of one side of the tabernacle,26You are also to make five crossbars of acacia wood for the frames on one side of the tabernacle,
and five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle for the rear side to the west.27five for those on the other side, and five for those on the rear side of the tabernacle, to the west.
"The middle bar in the center of the boards shall pass through from end to end.28The central crossbar in the middle of the frames shall extend from one end to the other.
"You shall overlay the boards with gold and make their rings of gold as holders for the bars; and you shall overlay the bars with gold.29Overlay the frames with gold and make gold rings to hold the crossbars. Also overlay the crossbars with gold.
"Then you shall erect the tabernacle according to its plan which you have been shown in the mountain.30So you are to set up the tabernacle according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.
"You shall make a veil of blue and purple and scarlet material and fine twisted linen; it shall be made with cherubim, the work of a skillful workman.31Make a veil of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen, with cherubim skillfully worked into it.
"You shall hang it on four pillars of acacia overlaid with gold, their hooks also being of gold, on four sockets of silver.32Hang it with gold hooks on four posts of acacia wood, overlaid with gold and standing on four silver bases.
"You shall hang up the veil under the clasps, and shall bring in the ark of the testimony there within the veil; and the veil shall serve for you as a partition between the holy place and the holy of holies.33And hang the veil from the clasps and place the ark of the Testimony behind the veil. So the veil will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.
"You shall put the mercy seat on the ark of the testimony in the holy of holies.34Put the mercy seat on the ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy Place.
"You shall set the table outside the veil, and the lampstand opposite the table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south; and you shall put the table on the north side.35And place the table outside the veil on the north side of the tabernacle, and put the lampstand opposite the table, on the south side.
"You shall make a screen for the doorway of the tent of blue and purple and scarlet material and fine twisted linen, the work of a weaver.36For the entrance to the tent, you are to make a curtain embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen.
"You shall make five pillars of acacia for the screen and overlay them with gold, their hooks also being of gold; and you shall cast five sockets of bronze for them.37Make five posts of acacia wood for the curtain, overlay them with gold hooks, and cast five bronze bases for them.
