NET Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleEnglish Standard Version
"Are you acquainted with the way the mountain goats give birth? Do you watch as the wild deer give birth to their young? 1“Do you know when the mountain goats give birth? Do you observe the calving of the does?
Do you count the months they must fulfill, and do you know the time they give birth? 2Can you number the months that they fulfill, and do you know the time when they give birth,
They crouch, they bear their young, they bring forth the offspring they have carried. 3when they crouch, bring forth their offspring, and are delivered of their young?
Their young grow strong, and grow up in the open; they go off, and do not return to them. 4Their young ones become strong; they grow up in the open; they go out and do not return to them.
Who let the wild donkey go free? Who released the bonds of the donkey, 5“Who has let the wild donkey go free? Who has loosed the bonds of the swift donkey,
to whom I appointed the steppe for its home, the salt wastes as its dwelling place? 6to whom I have given the arid plain for his home and the salt land for his dwelling place?
It scorns the tumult in the town; it does not hear the shouts of a driver. 7He scorns the tumult of the city; he hears not the shouts of the driver.
It ranges the hills as its pasture, and searches after every green plant. 8He ranges the mountains as his pasture, and he searches after every green thing.
Is the wild ox willing to be your servant? Will it spend the night at your feeding trough? 9“Is the wild ox willing to serve you? Will he spend the night at your manger?
Can you bind the wild ox to a furrow with its rope, will it till the valleys, following after you? 10Can you bind him in the furrow with ropes, or will he harrow the valleys after you?
Will you rely on it because its strength is great? Will you commit your labor to it? 11Will you depend on him because his strength is great, and will you leave to him your labor?
Can you count on it to bring in your grain, and gather the grain to your threshing floor? 12Do you have faith in him that he will return your grain and gather it to your threshing floor?
"The wings of the ostrich flap with joy, but are they the pinions and plumage of a stork? 13“The wings of the ostrich wave proudly, but are they the pinions and plumage of love?
For she leaves her eggs on the ground, and lets them be warmed on the soil. 14For she leaves her eggs to the earth and lets them be warmed on the ground,
She forgets that a foot might crush them, or that a wild animal might trample them. 15forgetting that a foot may crush them and that the wild beast may trample them.
She is harsh with her young, as if they were not hers; she is unconcerned about the uselessness of her labor. 16She deals cruelly with her young, as if they were not hers; though her labor be in vain, yet she has no fear,
For God deprived her of wisdom, and did not impart understanding to her. 17because God has made her forget wisdom and given her no share in understanding.
But as soon as she springs up, she laughs at the horse and its rider. 18When she rouses herself to flee, she laughs at the horse and his rider.
"Do you give the horse its strength? Do you clothe its neck with a mane? 19“Do you give the horse his might? Do you clothe his neck with a mane?
Do you make it leap like a locust? Its proud neighing is terrifying! 20Do you make him leap like the locust? His majestic snorting is terrifying.
It paws the ground in the valley, exulting mightily, it goes out to meet the weapons. 21He paws in the valley and exults in his strength; he goes out to meet the weapons.
It laughs at fear and is not dismayed; it does not shy away from the sword. 22He laughs at fear and is not dismayed; he does not turn back from the sword.
On it the quiver rattles; the lance and javelin flash. 23Upon him rattle the quiver, the flashing spear, and the javelin.
In excitement and impatience it consumes the ground; it cannot stand still when the trumpet is blown. 24With fierceness and rage he swallows the ground; he cannot stand still at the sound of the trumpet.
At the sound of the trumpet, it says, 'Aha!' And from a distance it catches the scent of battle, the thunderous shouting of commanders, and the battle cries. 25When the trumpet sounds, he says ‘Aha!’ He smells the battle from afar, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.
"Is it by your understanding that the hawk soars, and spreads its wings toward the south? 26“Is it by your understanding that the hawk soars and spreads his wings toward the south?
Is it at your command that the eagle soars, and builds its nest on high? 27Is it at your command that the eagle mounts up and makes his nest on high?
It lives on a rock and spends the night there, on a rocky crag and a fortress. 28On the rock he dwells and makes his home, on the rocky crag and stronghold.
From there it spots its prey, its eyes gaze intently from a distance. 29From there he spies out the prey; his eyes behold it from far away.
And its young ones devour the blood, and where the dead carcasses are, there it is." 30His young ones suck up blood, and where the slain are, there is he.”
