| 38He blessed them so that they became very numerous. He would not allow their cattle to decrease in number. | 38By his blessing they multiply greatly, and he does not let their livestock diminish. |
| 39As for their enemies, they decreased in number and were beaten down, because of painful distress and suffering. | 39When they are diminished and brought low through oppression, evil, and sorrow, |

| 42When the godly see this, they rejoice, and every sinner shuts his mouth. | 42The upright see it and are glad, and all wickedness shuts its mouth. |
| 43Whoever is wise, let him take note of these things! Let them consider the LORD's acts of loyal love! | 43Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things; let them consider the steadfast love of the LORD. |
