1The second lot belonged to the tribe of Simeon by its clans.1The second lottery went to the tribe of Simeon according to its families. Its inheritance was enclosed within the inheritance of the tribe of Judah.

9Simeon's assigned land was taken from Judah's allotted portion, for Judah's territory was too large for them; so Simeon was assigned land within Judah. 9The inheritance of the tribe of Simeon was contained in part of the territory of Judah; that is, because the portion allotted to the tribe of Judah was large enough for both tribes, the tribe of Simeon obtained an inheritance within that of Judah.
10The third lot belonged to the tribe of Zebulun by its clans. The border of their territory extended to Sarid.10The third lottery went to the tribe of Zebulun according to its families. The boundary of its inheritance extended to Sarid,
11Their border went up westward to Maralah and touched Dabbesheth and the valley near Jokneam.11then turned westward toward Maralah, proceeding to Dabbesheth, and then to the valley that is east of Jokneam.
12From Sarid it turned eastward to the territory of Kisloth Tabor, extended to Daberath, and went up to Japhia.12From Sarid it proceeded back eastward, creating a sunrise boundary at Chisloth-tabor, and proceeded from there to Daberath, then to Japhia,
13From there it crossed eastward to Gath Hepher and Eth Kazin and extended to Rimmon, turning toward Neah.13from which it proceeded toward the east to Gath-hepher, then to Eth-kazin, then going to Rimmon, where it turned toward Neah.
14It then turned on the north to Hannathon and ended at the Valley of Iphtah El.14On the north of Neah, the boundary turned toward Hannathon, terminating at Iphtah-el Valley
15Their territory included Kattah, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem; in all they had twelve cities and their towns.15and Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem, for a total of twelve towns and villages.
16This was the land assigned to the tribe of Zebulun by its clans, including these cities and their towns. 16These towns and villages are the inheritance of the tribe of Zebulun according to its families.
17The fourth lot belonged to the tribe of Issachar by its clans.17The fourth lottery went to the tribe of Issachar according to its families.
18Their assigned land included Jezreel, Kesulloth, Shunem,18The territorial allotment included Jezreel, Chesulloth, Shunem,

23This was the land assigned to the tribe of Issachar by its clans, including the cities and their towns. 23These towns and villages comprise the inheritance of the tribe of Issachar, according to its families.
24The fifth lot belonged to the tribe of Asher by its clans.24The fifth lottery went to the tribe of Asher according to its families.
25Their territory included Helkath, Hali, Beten, Acshaph,25The territorial boundary included Helkath, Hali, Beten, Achshaph,
26Alammelech, Amad, and Mishal. Their border touched Carmel to the west and Shihor Libnath.26Allammelech, Amad, and Mishal, and on the west Carmel and Shihor-libnath,
27It turned eastward toward Beth Dagon, touched Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtah El to the north, as well as the Valley of Emek and Neiel, and extended to Cabul on the north27then proceeded east to Beth-dagon. It proceeded to Zebulun and the Iphtah-el Valley, turned north to Beth-emek and Neiel, then proceeded north to Cabul,
28and on to Ebron, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah, as far as Greater Sidon.28Ebron, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah as far as Great Sidon.
29It then turned toward Ramah as far as the fortified city of Tyre, turned to Hosah, and ended at the sea near Hebel, Aczib,29There the boundary turned toward Ramah, reaching to the fortress city of Tyre and turned to Hosah, where it terminated at the Mediterranean Sea. Also included were Mahalab,? Achzib,
30Umah, Aphek, and Rehob. In all they had twenty-two cities and their towns.30Ummah, Aphek, and Rehob, for a total of 22 towns and villages.
31This was the land assigned to the tribe of Asher by its clans, including these cities and their towns. 31These towns and villages are the inheritance of the tribe of Asher according to its families.
32The sixth lot belonged to the tribe of Naphtali by its clans.32The sixth lottery went to the tribe of Naphtali according to its families.
33Their border started at Heleph and the oak of Zaanannim, went to Adami Nekeb, Jabneel and on to Lakkum, and ended at the Jordan River.33The territorial boundary proceeded from Heleph, the oak in Zaanannim, and Adami-nekeb, and Jabneel as far as Lakkum, terminating at the Jordan River.
34It turned westward to Aznoth Tabor, extended from there to Hukok, touched Zebulun on the south, Asher on the west, and the Jordan on the east.34There the boundary proceeded west to Aznoth-tabor and then to Hukkok, reaching Zebulun at the south, Asher on the west, and Judah on the east at the Jordan River.
35The fortified cities included Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Kinnereth,35Also included were the fortress towns of Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Chinnereth,
36Adamah, Ramah, Hazor,36Adamah, Ramah, Hazor,
37Kedesh, Edrei, En Hazor,37Kedesh, Edrei, En-hazor,
38Yiron, Migdal El, Horem, Beth Anath, and Beth Shemesh. In all they had nineteen cities and their towns.38Iron, Migdal-el, Horem, Beth-anath, and Beth-shemesh, for a total of nineteen towns and their villages.
39This was the land assigned to the tribe of Naphtali by its clans, including the cities and their towns. 39These towns and villages comprised the inheritance of the tribe of Naphtali according to its families.
40The seventh lot belonged to the tribe of Dan by its clans.40The seventh lottery went to the tribe of Dan according to its families.
41Their assigned land included Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir Shemesh,41The territorial allotment included Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir-shemesh,
42Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah,42Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah,
43Elon, Timnah, Ekron,43Elon, Timnah, Ekron,
44Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath,44Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath,
45Jehud, Bene Berak, Gath Rimmon,45Jehud, Bene-berak, Gath-rimmon,
46the waters of Jarkon, and Rakkon, including the territory in front of Joppa.46Me-jarkon, and Rakkon at the border near Joppa.
47(The Danites failed to conquer their territory, so they went up and fought with Leshem and captured it. They put the sword to it, took possession of it, and lived in it. They renamed it Dan after their ancestor.)47Later, when the descendants of Dan lost their territory, they went up and attacked Leshem. After they captured it and executed its inhabitants, they took possession of it and settled there, renaming the city of Leshem to Dan in memory of their ancestor Dan.
48This was the land assigned to the tribe of Dan by its clans, including these cities and their towns. 48These towns and villages comprised the inheritance of the tribe of Dan according to their families.
49When they finished dividing the land into its regions, the Israelites gave Joshua son of Nun some land.49When the Israelis had completed distribution of the various territories of the land as inheritances, they provided an inheritance to Nun's son Joshua.
50As the LORD had instructed, they gave him the city he requested--Timnath Serah in the Ephraimite hill country. He built up the city and lived in it. 50By a command from the LORD, they allocated the town that he requested, Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim. He rebuilt the town and settled there.
51These are the land assignments which Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the Israelite tribal leaders made by drawing lots in Shiloh before the LORD at the entrance of the tent of meeting. So they finished dividing up the land. 51These are the inheritances that Eleazar the priest, Nun's son Joshua, and the heads of the families of the Israeli tribes distributed by lot in the LORD's presence at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. So they finished dividing the land.
